Greetings!
I'm having a ball watching the Olympics! Not only are the games fun, but the commercials are even better than the ones for the Super Bowl.
As I watched each sport, I was thinking about how important the communication is between the coaches and athletes to achieve the desired result, an Olympic medal.
It's the same in business. We need to be good communicators with our clients, vendors, and colleagues in order to achieve our own goals and our clients' goals.

Clear Communication
Planning and details can make all the difference.
Be Positive:
Prepare for meetings with clients or colleagues by thinking ahead about your objectives for the meeting. When you send the invitation, be sure to include only those people that will be involved in the process and information about what topics will be covered. That way, the attendees are aware of the purpose of the meeting.
Be Confident:
By creating an agenda ahead of the meeting, you will be able to stay focused on priority topics and keep the meeting from getting off-track. In addition, it will give you a guide document to help with your presentation.
Be Clear:
What is the desired outcome? At the end of the meeting, ensure that attendees are aware of the goal. Set deadlines for objectives, assign tasks to attendees, and be sure everyone knows their role. Send a follow-up email outlining responsibilities and check on the status of progress as the deadlines near. |
Networking Tip
Send a follow-up email 
At networking events, you meet lots of people and collect business cards. Be sure to follow-up with your fellow colleagues. It's important to let others know that you didn't just meet them and forget them. Send an email conveying that you were glad to meet them and you hope to see them at future events. If you would like to know more about their business and feel they would be a good connection, request to meet for coffee or lunch.
