rainbow
Greetings!

Today I am sharing with you a poem from Ann Weem's book Kneeling in Jerusalem called "Walking Rainbows."

A rainbow is not just a symphony of colors
   sent to calm the storm in our souls;
it is a talk with God,
a mysterious, miraculous conversation with God,
      heart to heart,
the very heart of God saying to our hearts:
"I remember I am your God.
      Be my walking rainbows,
         so that the whole world
will know to whom you belong,
for I am the God who keeps promises,
and I have not forgotten our covenant."

That is the hope of the church:
   that God keeps promises,
The mission of the church is to
walk among the suffering and give,
for we are the covenant keepers,
         walking rainbows,
bringing the hope of the good news to the poor.

May you find an opportunity this week to be a walking rainbow.

CLC's Lenten Series Broken Pieces concludes this week with a powerful drama about Peter's denial performed by Jonathan Toso.  Special music will be provided by Julie Verley and Rhonda Haglund. Our meal before hand will be a family favorite with hot dogs and homemade macaroni and cheese.  Don't miss this last week of our great Lenten season.

Giving Tree SignGiving Tree
CLC's Mission & Ministry Board has placed a Giving Tree in the handicapped entry area with some fun ideas of things you can buy for the church and the many programs and ministries that we do.  Interested in some fun Easter gifts or maybe you have something laying around the house you're not using but we might be able to use.  Stop by the tree today and see if there's some way that you might be able to help us out.
