We welcome the Class of 2016. This coming school year, we are excited to share two new inaugural initiatives especially for our freshmen.

Kindle Fire:  This fall, each freshman will receive a Kindle Fire fully loaded with textbooks and course material. The days of lugging around a heavy backpack are over!

Freshmen Sailing Adventure - September 10-13th:

Each year at NYHS, students will have the opportunity to participate in an off-campus adventure. We are excited to partner with Sound Experience (www.soundexp.org) to offer the Class of 2016 a sailing and science adventure in Puget Sound this fall. Students, along with NYHS teachers, will spend three nights aboard the Adventuress sailing around  the San Jaun Islands. The crew of the Adventuress will teach us how to sail and students and NYHS faculty will be assigned key sailor roles on-board throughout the cruise.   That is not all! NYHS Science instructors and students will have hands-on Environmental Science, Physics and Biology learning while at sea!

We can't wait and we hope you are excited as well. Come aboard and sail away with NYHS this fall!
