Each day we are each faced with countless decisions. We decide what to wear, where to go, what to do, how to do it, and so on. For most of us, this can involve quite a bit of time, energy, and even angst.
The good news is that we live in a world of unlimited possibilities. The bad news is that we live in a world of unlimited possibilities! The trick is to whittle down the unlimited options, to get to what matters most and is in alignment with our reason for being.
Typically, we stand like a small child grasping on to so many toys that we can play with none of them, and refuse to let go. Let go already. You will be glad you did. Each "thing" we hang onto becomes our master, or "boss," and tries to run our lives and rule our days.
If money determines what we do or do not do, then money is our boss. If our emotions determine what we do, then our emotions are our boss. If our earthly passions determine what we do, then they are our boss. If God; Spirit; All-Good determines what we do, then God is our boss.
Biblically, Adam and Eve represent our human thoughts and emotions. When they decided to be "boss of themselves" they fell away from Paradise. When we let our lower, carnal thoughts and emotions be the boss of us, we too fall away from our true desires; what really matters to us.
The easiest way to connect with our greater good is to disconnect with all that is unlike it. We do so with prayer, meditation, and relaxation. This can help greatly with decision making, as we distance ourselves from "the world," and become as Jesus said, "In the world, but not of it."
Whether we are dealing with money, health, career, family, entertainment, recreation, etc. we can do so from a foundation of what matters most. We can become masters of our thoughts and feelings, under a "higher authority;" Spirit...God.
Take a look at the past week. Where did you go? What did you do? How did you do it, and why? Who did you spend time with? Was it meaningful or empty? Did it move you toward what matters most in your life? How much time, energy and money did you "invest" in these things?
If the answers to these questions are not in alignment with what you desire in the deepest part of your heart and soul; what you really want for your life, maybe you need a new "boss." The best earthly boss for you, of course is YOU! The Divine You that answers to a Higher Authority.
So...take some time to have a "meeting" with the boss of you today. Make a plan for your next steps. You will be so glad you did!
On to your Destiny,
RevAli
