In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

All words are formative but not all words are creative. The creative word lays hold of spirit substance and power

Blessings to You!

Whenever I visit my sons and their families in the Midwest, we love to play games. One of our favorites is "Mad Libs."

Mad Libs consist of a book that has a short story on each page with many key words replaced with blanks. Beneath each blank is specified category, such as "noun", "verb", "place", or "part of the body". One player asks the other players, in turn, to contribute a word for the specified type of each blank, but without revealing the context for that word.

Each person playing searches their mind for what could be humorous additions to the story. The more obscure, strange sounding or silly the word, the better! Finally, the completed story is read aloud. The result is usually hilarious and nonsensical.

Does your life ever feel like a Mad Lib Life? To know more, read on!

If you'd like to "try out" a Mad Lib I designed before reading on, first print out the "Mad Lib Word List" and fill it in, then print out the "Mad Lib Story and fill in the blanks from the list. Read out loud and laugh! Oh...if you can get some family or friends to help with words that would be even more fun! Oh...don't peek at the story before completing the word list!

Mad Lib Story

Mad Lib Life?

In our own lives, each day we consciously or unconsciously fill in the blanks of our story. And oftentimes, it does become a Mad Lib Life.  Now, I don't know about you, but I would like my life story to be one that is fun, prosperous, healthy, loving and wonderful, not one that is laughable, or dark and tragic.

The key to having the life we want is to consciously fill in the blanks; not letting them be filled by chance, or other people's 'words.' We have the right, responsibility and the power to write the story of our lives.

Here is something to think about:

1)  What nouns would you like to be identified by?

2)  What pronouns would you like to be described by?

3)  What verbs do you want to be written into your life story?

4)What adverbs would define what you do, or how you do it?

We write a new chapter in the story of our lives each day as we consistently practice the values and virtues we believe to be right and true in our hearts. We become the manifestation of the thoughts we hold about ourselves. I invite you to write your story with words of adventure, power, victory, excitement, and integrity. Yes...there will be days of challenge...and as you go through those days, remember to keep using the nouns, pronouns, verbs and adverbs that will become the fabric of your life. That which you would be; BE NOW.
