Blessings to you!
Once upon a time, we were RICH. We ran with a RICH crowd, we lived in RICH neighborhoods surrounded by RICH neighbors.
Now...don't get me wrong...our bank accounts were not large, our cars were not new, and our clothes did not come from designer shops. However, we had riches of time, choice, creativity and close, RICH relationships with friends and family. It is these things that are absent from most so many lives today.
Somewhere along the line we stopped living "the good life," chasing after a fabricated definition of what "the good life" looks like according to merchants and advertisers, fueled by ego's desire to "keep up with the Joneses". In the futile quest we abandoned our hearth and home, parked our precious little ones in day care, and went off to compete in the marketplace.
Today, this change has become a way of life. We passed it on to our children, who passed it on to theirs...and on and on it goes. Where does it end? When does it end?
I have two theories. The first one is that we continue to run ourselves into the ground creating a second "big bang" when everything technical...and maybe emotional and physical...breaks down and (the good news is) re-creation begins. The second theory is that those of us who DO remember "the way it was;" imperfect as it was, can help to re-create it without the flaws through the Law of Mind Action...holding, blessing, remembering, giving thanks for and MANIFESTING:
Morning coffee at leisure...
Making a house a home...
Keeping the Home Fires burning...and basking in their warmth...
Having less and appreciating it more...
Rocking babies to sleep...
Playing cards and board games with friends...
Coming home from work or school to the aroma of supper cooking...
Daydreaming, creating, visioning without a timeframe...
Making Valentine cards and Hallow'een costumes...
Planning and hosting supper for family and friends for "no good reason"...
When a promise was a promise, and commitment could be counted on...
The roles of homemaker and breadwinner.
The partnership of male and female; protect and provide with love and nuture.
The time to write without limit...
Tending my vegetable garden with loving care...
Respect...Integrity...Attending church as a family, every Sunday...
(these are mine...please feel to free to share yours via email reply)
No...it wasn't perfect...but in so many it was richer...and I would venture to say healthier. I know that there are those who would disagree, and that is fine by me. I speak today only with the prayer that the good things that have seem to have fallen by the wayside in our "worship" or giving false worth to Mamon (materiality) and Baal (self-centered-sensuality and ego) will return; partnering the blessings of the past with the positive achievements of the present, into a better future.
I hold these thoughts in mind...knowing and giving thanks that they will manifest in their own kind. Thank you, God!
