BPS Crew Saves Customer from Emergency Shut-Down

The following email was sent to Paul Baker, an outside salesman in our Stockton location, on Monday, August 23. As Paul stated upon reading it, "It is really nice to get this type of response from a customer...Thanks Ben and everyone in Bakersfield that stayed late and made this happen. I am glad we are on the same team."
The customer needed an isolation valve in their natural gas line and a leak repaired in an emergency to avoid shut-down and possible loss of product. BPS was able to offer the customer a TRIPLE OFFSET VALVE from our extensive inventory and avoid a potentially costly situation.

"Paul,

I just wanted to say thank you to your entire organization. Late on Friday afternoon we received a call from one of our customers and they indicated that they had a leak in the natural gas main that feeds their boiler room. They asked us to install a new isolation valve and to repair the leak as soon as possible. If we could not respond, they could have been forced to shut down the boilers and thus the entire facility.

Ben Schauer, in your Stockton branch took our initial call at about 4:00 pm on Friday. We told him the situation and he said he would try to find a valve that we could use. We needed a shut off valve for the 6" gas main the supplied the boiler room. He located a valve in your Bakersfield branch. He worked with the people in that office to get the valve on a hot shot truck so that we would have the valve on the jobsite by 10:00 am the next morning. Your Bakersfield branch did an excellent job by insuring the valve was loaded on the truck and ready to be delivered in time for us to do our work.

We were able to shut main gas off to the facility at 10:00 am on Saturday. By 2:00 pm the valve was installed and they were able to start two of the six boilers. By 3:30 pm all of the repairs were complete and they were able to start the remaining four boilers. The plant was able to restart without having to dump... or to lose any [product] that was in production.

Your people were great to work with, they were able to take advantage of your multiple locations and inventories, and were willing to stay late on a Friday afternoon and evening to help us and our customer.

Thank you for a job well done!"

We hope to come through for all of our customers in such a way! If there is material you need today, please contact BPS and let us prove ourselves to you!
