Mrs. Nettie Turner is a 67-year-old Baltimore resident with 11 grandchildren. What she thought was a head cold was a more serious bronchial problem. Mrs. Turner took charge of her own health care, reduced her costs and became a patient advocate. Read her story.

Koehn, OFMQ CEO

Gregg Koehn, BS, CPA was named chief executive officer for OFMQ on August 31, 2011.  Having served as chief financial officer for the organization, Gregg brings his strong business and financial expertise, as well as 18 years experience with OFMQ's operations in this new leadership role.
"I look forward to continuing to serve Oklahoma's healthcare providers and patients in this new capacity," Koehn said. "In this time of many challenges in healthcare, the expertise that OFMQ delivers in quality improvement, health information technology, health research, and protecting Medicare beneficiaries is critical to moving our state forward," he said.

 

Koehn holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Northeastern State University, in Tahlequah and is a member of the Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of CPAs.

  

  

 

 

OFMQ Awarded Oklahoma QIO Contract

  

Oklahoma Foundation for Medical Quality is pleased to announce it was awarded a new three-year contract to serve as the Medicare Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) for Oklahoma. OFMQ will help providers integrate and coordinate care across settings within communities, improve community health by promoting preventive services, and drive lower healthcare costs through improvement. We will be inviting providers and other stakeholders to join us in this new journey to transform healthcare. Read more.

As a quality partner with Medicare, Oklahoma Foundation for Medical Quality works with health care practitioners in a variety of settings to help improve health care quality. During the 2008-2011 QIO Program period, providers with OFMQ acheived measurable success. Read about Oklahoma's success.

Important Changes to Medicare Beneficiary Complaint and Discharge Appeals Process

All Medicare providers must be aware of required changes to the Important Message and Beneficiary Discharge Notices.

 

Effective, September 12, all complaints and appeals will be processed through FMQAI, the Beneficiary and Family Centered Care National Coordinating Center (BFCCNCC). The initial point of contact for providers and beneficiaries on such reviews will no longer be OFMQ. The point of contact will be FMQAI. 

 

CMS will provide more information on these important changes, including all contact information and specific changes that will be required to beneficiary notices.  Please check www.ofmq.com for more information as it becomes available.
