Clearing the way to Wellness...

Are you organized on the inside and  out??

Hello, again! In 60 seconds or less, learn something new every month about the link between two critical areas in your life that can affect your success. They are disorganization AND nutrition, health, and fitness.

Thank you for taking the time to read each month my quick and easy newsletter "Nutrition & Organizing Morsels," which links disorganization to the dramatic effects it has on your nutrition habits, health, and fitness.

I will say this again as I am sure, with our busy lives, you quite possibly may have forgotten!  Every month, I am so excited because I want YOU to learn how to be your best at what you do.  If your kitchen is organized, you will reach for healthy food items as opposed to the quick-fix, canned, processed and refined foods with hydrogenated oils, neurotoxins, high fructose corn syrup, and other detrimental ingredients.  The energy you need simply does not exist for you to stay organized and on top of your game with these unhealthy food items going into your mouth!

There IS no greater influence on your health and well-being than the food you put into your mouth 3-plus times a day every day of your life!  So think about what you feed your body BEFORE you pop that unhealthy product into your mouth. Ask yourself:  "Does this nourish my body or deplete it?"

Why not kick off Spring with your body (internal) and home (external) as your first priority!  It is that time again.  It is Spring.  Yay!!  Guess what? This means it's time to cleanse, purge, clear your space, and clean it up on the inside and out.  If you declutter your external physical environment, it will automatically improve your internal environment, mentally and physically.  Clean out a closet, empty a filing cabinet full of old and useless papers, or do just one thing health-wise to get you started.

Our bodies are amazing machines.  The body is very narcissistic, and it will run perfectly fine if you give it what it needs.  If you don't, then don't be surprised when you have neglected your body and you end up with an illness.  Your body has given you all of the signs pre-illness, you can be sure of it.

DID YOU KNOW ...

1.  Green tea:  We hear a lot about it, but there's a reason!  Green tea has lots of antioxidants to counter free radical activity.  Drink this every day.  Remember, decaf doesn't carry as much of the antioxidant properties; so throw two teabags in to get what are called "catechins."

2.  Healthy Fats & Oils (Olive Oil, Coconut oil, real butter): Be sure not to cook with olive oil as there just still is a lot of controvery around cooking with it.  It is not meant for high-heat cooking. Put it on salads and veggies, but use unrefined, expeller-pressed coconut oil, to be safe, as it is a very heat-stable oil.

3.  Cilantro:  Cilantro is a cleansing agent and has the unique ability to chelate (bind) to heavy metals and other toxins and transport them out of the body through the elimination process.  It actually loosens them from organs, tissue, and blood.  It serves as a nutritious food which food which naturally cleanses the body while giving your Mexican food or your salad a great, unique flavor!

4.  Mint:  Mint settles a nervous stomach, soothes the digestive tract, and reduces the severity and length of stomaches. Mint teas can ease the discomfort associated with irritable bowel syndrome and even slow the growth of many harmful bacteria and fungi.  The antifungal properties of mint are thought to play a role in the treatment of asthma and many allergy conditions as well.  Important to know is the fact that when you steep the tea, make sure it's covered to prevent the valuable volatile oils from evaporating.

5.  Sweet potatoes:   Sweet potatoes are a great source of vitamin A and C.  They are also good for stomach ulcers and inflamed conditions of the colon; beneficial for low blood pressure; and they may be helpful for hemorrhoids because of their high fiber content.  It is touted as possibly preventing cancer in glands and organs with epithelial tissue because of its high Vitamin A content, and, lastly, good for diabetics because it helps stabilize blood sugar levels.

Stay tuned as I'll share with you next month ways to improve your sleep habits so that you have more energy to stay organized.  I will give you food for thought in every single Morsel that will lead you to create more energy in your everyday life.

Nutrition & Organizing Morsel #15:

Did you know the three areas most affected by external clutter are:

1.  Health / Nutrition

2.  Entertaining (in your home)

3.  Relationship (romantic or platonic)

Are these not three areas of life that are greatly impacted by being disorganized on the inside and out?

The impact is more severe the more disorganized you are.  Act now and bring these areas back into balance!

Here's a tease for next month's Sleep topic!

Move alarm clocks and other electrical devices away from your bed.

If these devices must be used, keep them as far away from your bed as possible, preferably at least 3 feet. Remove the clock from view. It will only add to your worry when you stare at it all night... 2 a.m. ...3 a.m. ... 4:30 a.m.

Love, Cheryl  :-)

Tune in next week for entire list!
