The Deer Creek Tributaries Naming Project has come to an end!
We would like to thank all of you who participated for your creek naming suggestions. We enjoyed reading them, and learning more about the Deer Creek Watershed from your local knowledge.
We are very excited that you took this opportunity to leave your mark on both local geography and history.
We are confident that through the interest of you and the other Deer Creek Tributary Naming Project participants that these unnamed streams will now have a greater sense of identity and recognition in the community. |

Your Backyard: Upcoming Events In Your Area Restoration Projects

Saturday September 25 - Trash Bash Please join the River des Peres Watershed Coalition, Great Rivers Greenway District, and MSD for this family friendly event ending in a bar-b-que lunch. Last year over 150 volunteers collected 65 tires and more than 3 tons of scrap and trash from the watershed. Please join us for this family friendly event ending in a bar-b-que lunch. Register at (www.riverdesperes.org). There are clean-up sites throughout the entire River des Peres Watershed for you to choose from, including a site at Deer Creek (Rocket) Park in Maplewood.
Sunday Sept 26 - Mona Terrace Habitat Restoration in U. City
Please join the River des Peres Watershed Coalition from 7-10 AM at the U. City Firestation at the intersection of North-South Rd. and Shaftesbury Ave. (at the bridge over the River des Peres) to have fun replanting with some native plants where invasive species were removed.
