Psalm 61:8

8 Then I will ever sing in praise of your name
and fulfill my vows day after day.

David made a vow to praise God each day. David continually praised God through both the good and difficult times of his life. Do you find something to praise God for each day? As you do, you will find your heart elevated from daily distractions to lasting confidence.

I need to work on this!

Luke 23:44-49

The Death of Jesus

44 It was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon,45 for the sun stopped shining. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two. (The curtain of the temple was in place to keep everyone but the high priest from being in the holy of holies - the part of the temple where God's presence dwelled.  This tearing of the curtain represents the access we all now have to be in God's presence through believing in Jesus)  46 Jesus called out with a loud voice, "Father, into your hands I commit my spirit."t When he had said this, he breathed his last.

Jesus died voluntarily.  He is God and chose to suffer and die physically and commit his spirit to the father.

47 The centurion, seeing what had happened, praised God and said, "Surely this was a righteous man."48 When all the people who had gathered to witness this sight saw what took place, they beat their breasts and went away.49 But all those who knew him, including the women who had followed him from Galilee, stood at a distance, watching these things.

There was something about the way Jesus died that changed the mind of this Roman guard  who was used to seeing criminals die.  He knew that Jesus was not only innocent but was "right" with God.
