 As many of you know, Becky and I are working through some tough times.  Please pray for us.  I am struggling, as always, to consistently do things God's way and in His time instead of my way and my time.  Our God is amazing and is doing amazing things in our lives.  I am learning to wait and let Him do His thing.

2 Samuel 8:15

15  So David reigned over all Israel and did what was just and right for all his people.

King David's reign was characterized by doing what was "just and right." David was fair in interpreting the law, administering punishment with mercy, respecting people's rights, and recognizing people's duties toward God. Is it any wonder that almost everyone trusted and followed David? Justice should characterize the way you relate to people. Make sure you are fair in the way you treat them.

Matthew 3:8

 

8  Prove by the way you live that you have repented of your sins and turned to God.

 

 

John the Baptist called people to more than words or ritual; he told them to change their behavior. "Prove by the way you live that you have repented of your sins" means that God looks beyond our words and religious activities to see if our conduct backs up what we say, and he judges our words by the actions that accompany them. Do your actions match your words?
