Nurse Update!  I have gotten some response and have a couple of interviews that need to be scheduled.  Please pray that the Lord provides the right nurses at the right time.  I am looking to hire an office nurse for Wayland and another  nurse to do pregnancy confirmation ultrasounds, 20 hours a week, in Bath, NY.  Anyone who is interested can reply to this e-mail with information.

Matthew 4:1-11 NIV
The dove is the traditional symbol of the Holy  Spirit.  It's not clear how fully Jesus was aware of who He really was until after His baptism by John.  Now that the Spirit has descended upon Him, He is led right into temptation.

Matthew 4:1-11 NIV  Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil.  (2)  After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry.  It is humanly possible to go without food for forty days but not without water for more than about a week.  We do not know the exact details of Jesus' fasting, but it doesn't seem that He would draw on His "God nature" to do this fast.  Fasting is a "spiritual discipline" that can bring a person close to God.  It is between the person and God.  Some people will only drink water for a period of time - like 24 hours, others will give up something they really like, e.g. Mt. Dew or chocolate.  I have not been able to successfully incorporate this discipline into my life, yet.  I always thought that it proved Jesus was God, to be able to withstand the temptation of the devil after this fast, and with Him being so weak.  Others have said that to withstand this direct temptation from Satan himself, Jesus needed to be spiritually strong as a man, and the fast was necessary for Him to be spiritually ready.  Jesus was God, but He limited Himself to being a man so He could relate to us.  It seems that He did not wield His Godly power directly but instead called upon the Holy Spirit and drew His power from His uniquely intimate relationship from our Father in heaven.  Are you confused by Jesus?  We can't understand everything, but let the Spirit of God tell you what you need to know as you study the Word of God.  (3)  The  tempter came to him and said, "If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread."  (4)  Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'" (5)  Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple.  (6)  "If you are the Son of God," he said, "throw yourself down. For it is written: "'He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.'"  (7)  Jesus answered him, "It is also written: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'" (8)  Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor.  (9)  "All this I will give you," he said, "if you will bow down and worship me."  (10)  Jesus said to him, "Away from me, Satan! For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.'" (11)  Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.
Notice that Jesus did not defeat Satan with lightning bolts or God Kwan Do, but by quoting the Word of God - the Bible of the time.
Hmm...  I wonder if we could defeat temptation by using the Word.
