Becky's big event is coming in two weeks. She'll be the "Celebrity Author" at the book fair at Nugget Hill in Wayland on Saturday June 13th. The book fair will benefit the Lighthouse Church Building fund. I can't wait to see what God is going to do with her book. He inspired her to write it. Please come and support her and the church if you can.

Luke 22: 35-38 NIV
Then Jesus asked them, "When I sent you without purse, bag or sandals, did you lack anything?" "Nothing," they answered. (36) He said to them, "But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don't have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one. (37) It is written: 'And he was numbered with the transgressors'; and I tell you that this must be fulfilled in me. Yes, what is written about me is reaching its fulfillment." (38) The disciples said, "See, Lord, here are two swords." "That is enough," he replied.
We long for rules to live by. Rules make things simple. We don't like open endedness like "Love your neighbor." In verses 35-36 Jesus changes His instructions to the disciples. Jesus wants us to follow Him. It's open ended in the sense that while His overarching theme is Love, how that is expressed depends on the circumstances. How do we know what He wants? Listen to Him in quiet prayer time, read His Word, ask others who have loved Jesus longer and more.
Verse 37 is evidence that Jesus Himself called for a re-interpretation of Jewish scripture. He is the Messiah, and prophecy in the scripture all points to His life, death, and resurrection. His story is predicted hundreds of years before He came to earth. In Verse 38 Jesus is probably saying "Enough, I'm trying to help you understand what's going to happen, and you're taking me literally and counting out swords." Most travellers in that time carried swords to protect them from muggers and wild animals. When Jesus says to sell your cloak and buy a sword, commentaries suggest He was warning them of the persecution and danger they would face after His death.

Prayer Requests
Please pray for Daniel Speers and family. He is an 8yr old boy with a brain tumor from my Aunt's church in Pittsburgh
Please pray for Sally, my Aunt's neighbor's sister, who has breast cancer.
Sheila Fairbrother asks for prayer for Marie Margeson on the prayer request
list.....as she is still undergoing Radiation. Pray that the
radiation treatments help her to recover from her breast cancer 100%
and Dear God please give Marie the awakeness she needs as she is
already feeling the sleepy side affects from her treatment. Amen
Please pray for Jo Sylor's brother Fred who's had a heart transplant and possibly strokes. Especially pray for God's financial provision.
Please pray for the Kent family from Buena Vista Church who lost their Father to a farm accident last week.
Please pray that Heather, Laura, and Ashley, three 19 year olds that Becky met in Walmart, come to know the Love of Jesus.
Please pray for Cody who is having a difficult time over the death of his grandfather.

Pray for Kay. Bill has gone to be with the Lord leaving a grieving wife and family. He got sick and went down very quickly. Pray for peace and strength and healing for wife Kay.
Please pray that a special friend and patient who has terrible Panic Attacks would know the peace of Jesus in a powerful way.

Praises and Answers
God is opening doors for Becky to share the message of hospitality through the book that He asked her to write.
The Lord has opened the door for my son Josh and I to go to Guatemala in August on a mission trip.
About 20 men and boys gave their lives to Christ at Men's adventure Weekend on 5/15/09.
