Springtime along the Shoreline
The first flowers of Spring are blooming everywhere: Yellows, Whites, Blues, Reds, Pinks and more. Daffodils, Tulips, Crocus, Grape Hyacinths, Forsythia, Magnolias!
Our Weeping Cherry trees are about to burst into bloom. Birds are singing their hearts out. The beach roads are busy with people walking, jogging, strolling. Babies in strollers, pets on a leash, people walking and talking and enjoying.
The icy snow has gone and been replaced by what I call Spring Snow!

Creative Crafting with Lauri Ingram
 We're venturing into something new. Trying it on for size: our first Theme Weekend, May 6-8, 2011.
Our very tallented friend, Lauri Ingram, has agreed to teach three projects over the course of the weekend, beginning from Friday evening. One project will be for the benefit of our military troops, and two projects will be for you, our participants, to take home.
You'll be amazed at what you'll learn. Not chatchkes, but practica and functional, and beautiful too.
Come alone or come with a friend. A Mother's Day weekend treat to refesh and restore you.

As part of the "Raise the Roof - Habitat for Humanity Day" in Madison CT on May 7th, the Best of the Nest Silent Art Auction will benefit the current Madion Cares Sponsored Habitat for Humanity Build in New Haven CT.
Local artists have uniquely decorated and donated wood bird houses for the silent auction. The bird houses are on display in various locations throughout Madison, including here at our Tidewater Inn,

Clam chowder ... mmmmm ... makes me think of seashore, blue skies, sunshine ... or warmth, comfort, dinner by the fireside ... So many pleasures associated with this simple and simply delicious fare.
I set out to sample the best of the best on the shoreline and came upon some interesting discoveries in the land of clam chowder. Who knew?!
