NOVEMBER 2011

Branding for the cause.

Nexus has worked with many organizations and non-profits to design logos and branding for their "cause marketing."  We have an impressive portfolio of event branding and marketing material, some of which are shown here.

Whether it's to raise money for a non-profit or advertise an upcoming event, a strong, effective event logo unifies the entire marketing effort and draws attention to it. The theming can be applied to signage, brochures, ads, direct mail and invitation package, apparel and promotional items and web/social media materials.

We have a proven track record of knowing what's effective and what draws a crowd. Whether it's a large charitable effort such as Rady Children's Hospital, the Ronald McDonald House here in San Diego or a civic fund-raising event like the California Avocado Festival, Nexus has the solution.

Keepin' it small.

Around this time of year companies are thinking outside of the box to get sales. I was surprised to hear that even American Express has joined the fray and is presenting its second annual Small Business Saturday, which takes place 11/26. AMEX will help drive traffic through the doors of small businesses with a special incentive: a $25 statement credit offer for Cardmembers when they register their card and spend $25 or more on Small Business Saturday at any qualifying small business.

What's in it for AMEX? Many small businesses don't accept the card because of its higher merchant fees, and this program is a way for AMEX to gain acceptance of their cards at small businesses. Last year, over 20,000 people received the $25 credit from their American Express cards.

AMEX is even offering a free small biz toolkit for participating small businesses to promote their business for that day. The kit includes $100 in Facebook ads, free social media tools, video templates, as well as emarketing and in-store materials advertising the event. It amazes me that even the big boys like AMEX are pulling out the stops to gain customers.

Have a nice Thanksgiving...and happy shopping!
