JULY 2011

Every picture tells a story.

We recently completed the design and production of a custom promotional packet for one of Hollywood's most successful TV and Radio voice-over announcers - Bill Ratner.

Bill is joining the growing popularity of the ancient tradition of live storyelling. Bill is a seven-time winner of The Moth Storytelling Slams and has told traditional and personal stories at the National Storytelling Conference and numerous nationwide festivals.

Using our "look & feel" from the recently completed website, the presentation materials includes a custom pocket folder, which carries an informational brochure, custom DVD and CD, letterhead and business card. The packet will be used to highlight Ratner's storytelling and voice-over classes, and it will be sent to festival directors and educational institutions for performance and workshop inquiries.

Bill Ratner says, "I've done lots of major projects with Nexus, and working with them is the most creative time of my work-year. I can't say enough good things about their talent, creativity, through-put, follow-up and support."

ebooks. Changing the way we read.

Ebooks have become the single bestselling category in American publishing for the first time ever. They have had a 202% growth in sales in June 2011 compared with last year and in fact ebook sales have surpassed paperback sales. The Association of American Publishers attribute the rise in sales to a greater selection of devices, good price points and the broader range of ebooks now available.

Publishers report that the use of ebooks is generating fresh consumer interest in - and new revenue streams for - 'backlist' titles - or books that have been in print for at least a year. Readers who enjoy a newly-released book will often buy an author's full backlist.

Along the same line, there has been a lot of activity in converting magazines digitally for use on ebooks or ipads. All the big publishers are offering many of their major publications in tablet editions and Apple leads the way with its subscription option for iPad publications.

For marketing purposes, clients are converting their printed marketing materials to tablet formats to increase their viewing availability to the mobile market. As more and more tablets and ebooks enter the mainstream, it's a perfect way for marketers to get in front of their audience.
