Questions and answers onTri-C Karters and EP1K ProMotion

Strategic Alliance

As was announced, Tri-C Kart Club and the EP1K Series have joined forces for the 2010 season to bring SoCal drivers what they have been asking for: less run groups, more track time, and a professional and fun envirornment.

Here are some questions and answers:

Q. How many races are scheduled for the 2010 Season, and at what venues?
A. All 9 scheduled races will be held at CalSpeed Karting Center, with the final race running in either Oct or Nov pending the Lancaster GP schedule. August will also be the first ever NIGHT RACE held at CalSpeed.

Q. What does the race format look like?
A. The schedule has been limited to accommodate 8 run groups maximum to ensure a reasonable race day length. Each run group is slated for 60 minutes of track time spread over 2 practice sessions, a qualifying session, 2 heat races, and a main event. The day is run on a time certain schedule so that groups know the exact minute that they are to be on track.

Q. How does the points system work?
A. Points will be accumulated in both Heat Races Results and the Main Event. Trophies will be awarded based on finishing position in the Main event, however the winner of the Main Event is not necessarily the driver that accumulated the most number of points towards the season championship on that day. This means that a drivers overall performance is measured in the points results.

Q. Will there be reserved pit spaces available?
A. Drivers will be able to reserve a pit space for the season at a minimal fee.

Q. Which group is running the event, Tri-C or EP1K?
A. All race registrations will be sent to and processed by Tri-C Kart Club. The vast majority of Tri-C event race day staff, including Race Director Bob English, will remain in place, however the running of an efficient and on-schedule day will be a combined effort between both groups.

Q. Where can I find more info on the series and classes offered?
A. All information can be found at
www.tri-ckarters.com updated web site.
