June Race Day
Tri-C offers more racing at its June race! Race day will once again feature two heat races and a main. This month (with the execption of Kid Karts) our heat races will consist be 10 lap, the main will be 14 laps.
Bridgestone Spec. Tire Changes
(YHC out - YKC in)
Bridgestone tires has discontinued production of the YHC tires and replaces it with the YKC tire. Tri-C reconizes that many of you have a stock of the YHC tires, we will allow the use of these through the rest of the club season. Beginning with the June race we will allow both the YHC and YKC tires.
Here is the Official statement from the IKF:
IKF Spec Bridgestone Tires for Sprint
Due to circumstances beyond IKF's control and the limited availability of the YHC tire, effective June 15, 2009, the new YKC Bridgestone tire will be allowed for IKF competition with the following exception.
Exception:
The YHC tire will still be the spec tire for the 4 Cycle Sprint Grand National. There is ample supply for this event as Bridgestone has stockpiled tires for this event. The new YKC tire will not be allowed at this event.
The 2009 2 Cycle Sprint Grand National Spec Tire will be the Bridgestone YKC. |
Food at Grange
We understand that the hot dog vendor will once again be at the track with hot dogs. I believe he can also take pizza orders. Plan your menu accordingly |

Grange'
Race course will be run forward (clockwise)
For this weekends round 6 race at the Grange Motor Circuit, Tri-C received such positive responses to our two hears and a main races that we will carry this format forward to the June race.

First 10 lap heat race
Second 10 lap heat race
Main Race 14 laps
Your qualifying time will set the grid for the first heat race, your finish in the first heat will set your grid for the second heat race. For the main we will set the grid using your heat race finishes combined. The point system used for the heat races will be as follows 1st you will score 0 2nd you will score 2 3rd you will score 3 4th you will score 4 5th you will score 5 and so on You will score the number of points for your finishing position, with the exception of winning the heat, If you win you will score a 0. Your total points for both heats will set the grid for the main, lowest on pole. In the event of a tie in heat race points the tie breakers will be: 1st Tie Breaker - Qualifying time (best qualifying time wins the tie) if there is still a tie 2nd Tie Breaker - Best heat race finish (either heat, best finish wins the tie) if there is still a tie 3rd Tie Breaker - the best finish in the 2nd heat This format will reward consistent drivers, it will make every session important from qualifying through the heats with the payoff in the main. Volunteer to Work for Points
Every member must sit out one club race and volunteer to work at either a club race or one of our special events. If this isn't possible, ask about the "pay for points" option.
