Fighting for Marriage by Noel Meador
With multiple years of conflict in Afghanistan and Iraq, military marriages are under tremendous strain. For an increasing number, the strain proves to be too great. There were an estimated 27,312 failed marriages in 2009, up from 25,000 in 2008.
Stronger Families is set to deliver Oxygen for Your Relationship Seminars as a demonstration project at Fort Lewis in the next couple of months. With the sponsorship of a NW business, Stronger Families will have the opportunity to serve 150 couples as they return home from deployment. We hope to obtain further scholarships in 2010 with the goal of reaching 1,000 couples by the end of the year.

Marriage Can be a Laughing Matter
Stronger Families to Co-Sponsor Laugh Your Way To A Better Marriage Seminar!
Most marriage seminars tend to be serious, technical, and emotionally taxing. Laugh Your Way to a Better Marriage, by contrast, helps couples deal with tough issues in a way that's fun and non-threatening.
Presented by comedian and pastor Mark Gungor, this entertaining and informative message is designed to: - Bring hope and positive change to marriage relationships
- Offer transforming communication tools
- Help spouses better understand each others' needs
- Rekindle Romance
- Draw in husbands and get them excited about working on their relationship, especially those that may normally resist attending a "marriage event"
This is a life changing event you won't want to miss! Visit our event page to learn more, register, and view a hilarious sample video of the presentation with Mark Gungor!

Stronger Families Live: Marriage Enrichment from the Experts
This February, we were privileged to feature marriage experts Mark Gungor of Laugh Your Way To a Better Marriage, and author and marriage therapist Dr. Pat Love, during our second series of Stronger Families Live events. During the events, both speakers spiced up the discussion with a frank look at meeting your spouse's sexual needs, increasing communication in and out of the bedroom, and fostering great marital intimacy. Mark Gungor even shared the number one key to great sex!

Follow Up on Our 2nd Annual 7-Day Love Challenge
Over 2,000 couples joined in our second annual 7-Day Love Challenge in February. Couples were given daily challenges to demonstrate their love for each other. This year we also included special intimacy challenges to help couples reignite intimacy in their sex life. We received a great deal of feedback and were encouraged to hear how the challenge enriched your marriages.

Invest in Your Marriage By Krista Fogelson
When we were first married, my husband asked me for a favor. The actual favor escapes me, but I distinctly recall replying, "Well, if I do this, what will you do for me?" His response? "I don't think that is how it's supposed to work. We shouldn't do things for each other with the motive of getting something in return. More time will be spent keeping score and less time working to build our marriage."
Every marriage goes through conflicts, and every couple has times where they feel they are putting more into their marriage than they are getting out of it. Marriage researcher Andrew Cherlin notes that lack of fulfillment is seen as justification to seek something, someone better...and end the marriage. The following tips will help couples break away from the consumer mindset (what can I get out of this) and start investing in their marriage.
