Reclaim Your Marriage!

Michele Weiner-Davis, nicknamed "The Divorce Buster," is a marriage enthusiast, a passionate optimist, and an author who understands hope for marriage.  Recently, I spoke with Michele for an hour on the phone.  Afterward, I read her book, The Divorce Remedy, in one sitting.  I'm excited about what I learned for my marriage, and passionate about bringing her solution-oriented wisdom and action-based advice to hungry, hurting, and desperately broken couples.

Read more to hear the nuggets of truth I gleaned from our conversation as well as from The Divorce Remedy.

By Krista Fogelson

The Internet is a valuable tool. It helps students with research, provides up to the minute news, and is an easy way to keep in contact with friends and family.  Unfortunately, the Internet can also lend itself to irresponsible and even dangerous behaviors such as online sexual predators, pornography, and the harm in posting personal information or photos on a public and permanent environment. Most kids know to just say "NO!" if a stranger asks for personal information or offers a ride in their car.  It is more confusing, however, when a stranger poses online as a cool buddy, someone your kid can finally relate to.

Research also shows that parental involvement reduces a child's risk to Internet danger by teaching them wise Internet habits!

Family at the ComputerHow to Secure Internet Safety for Your Family
By Luke Nelson

The World Wide Web has opened the doors to wonderful vistas of learning, research, and social interaction.  However, it also presents uncharted territory, especially for children who are confronted with early exposure to Internet pornography and who face predators that want to prey on their innocence and draw them into potentially harmful relationships.

In fear, many parents may handle the risks by banning Internet use altogether. The Internet can be scary,  however, with the right tools, parents can learn how to make the Internet a safe and fun place for their family.  The following are key tips and effective resources I know will help you do just that.
Computer MouseHave You Had the Porn Talk Yet?
By Noel Meador

Statistics show that the average child first views pornography by the age of 11, 40 million U.S. adults regularly visit pornographic Web sites, and 47 percent of families say pornography is a problem in their home. As a parent you may not be ready to deal with this subject. Yet the question is not if, but when, this disturbing trend comes knocking on your door will you be ready to deal with it.

The following information is for any parent who has experienced the "What should I do?" question that comes with discovering their child has been exposed to or is viewing porn. This is not a comprehensive list, but a good foundation for parents to apply.
