For the better part of my first career in football, my wife and I operated as a team in our budgeting and money management. 

Stacy is the organized, cautious, detail-oriented, and careful spender in our family.  We delegated the budgeting and crucial task of keeping our lifestyle below our income to her. 

One problem...I did not fully realize or appreciate the value of her traits as the more disciplined and sound money manager.
