What to do in the blitz...regain perspective and return to the fundamentals
My wife and I were blessed with a downwardly mobile career path...only from an economic standpoint. My first career, in the NFL, compensated very nicely (not ridiculously nicely like today, but very nicely). Looking back, the best things we were to tithe on our salary, and put ourselves on a budget of much less than we made. My wife was the star at creating and implementing that spending and saving plan. It allowed us to leave football without debt, prepared to school our kids and take the financial step down into the elevated joy of the ministry and non-profit calling at Families Northwest.
