Two Former KidsActing Kids Tie the Knot in an Electrifying Ceremony!
On Stage at kidsActing

Everyone knows that kidsActing is a centrifuge where fierce friendships are forged; but did you know it's a laboratory for lifelong love, too? This summer, two notable alumni bonded together in a spectacular Sci-Fi-themed ceremony at the Museum of Science in Boston, Massachusetts.

On June 4th, 2011, Jordan Hamessley and Matt London, both of whom starred in a slew of kidsActing's main-stage musicals from the mid-1990s through the early 2000s, were married in an electricity theatre! Shortly after officially becoming Mr. and Mrs. London, Matt and Jordan entered a Faraday Chamber, which was then struck by lightning bolts while a Museum expert demonstrated the principals of electromagnetism... Talk about the laws of attraction; we always knew they were two forces to be reckoned with!

WeddingHighlights of the robot-infused reception included a first dance to the Back to the Future version of Earth Angel, seating arrangements that were Periodic-Table-themed (get it, Periodic Tables?), and freeze-dried astronaut ice cream as party favors.  Clearly Matt and Jordan (who live in New York City now, where they work as writers and editors) haven't lost their flair for the dramatic or unique.

Meanwhile, three of the couple's old kA cohorts played essential supporting roles as members of the wedding party, including Paul Kite, Kelli Strkyer, and Barrett Davis (who's still performing in Mary Poppins on Broadway).  The bride notes that "we all know that kidsActing pumps out many talented students, but I think the hidden secret of kidsActing is the friendships. I cherish my friendships that came out of kidsActing."

Wedding

The groom concurs, saying "as a child, I was a bit of a misfit. Thanks to Dede Clark and kidsActing, I was able to enjoy a safe space with other kids like me. It seems only natural then that those people would be the ones that I remained friends with for my entire life. It's only by chance that Jordan and I were able to reconnect as adults, but it gives me great comfort to know that we knew each other when we were small."

"I met Matt when I was nine," confirms Jordan, "in a production of Grease! You can bet we danced to Greased Lightning with all of our friends at our wedding!"  (It's pretty great that that particular number fits in with the whole lightning theme, too.)  We know that their next adventure is destined for dazzling new heights, and we wish them all the best in their new fusion, we mean union, together!
