Former kidsActing student brings her theater company to perform at
Center Stage Texas

Andrea Gastelum, right, performs with the Mudlark Puppeteers
David in BE
"Pandora" Andrea Gastelum was born and raised in Austin, TX. Her first appearance on stage was in kidsActing's musical, The Velveteen Rabbit. Miss Gastelum played Raggedy Ann and had a solo in a group number she still remembers. She was seven years old at the time. The experience set her on her life path. Miss Gastelum attended classes at kidsActing for eight years. In that time she performed in several musicals including the original productions of Monsters; Bugs; and Goldie, A Fish Story. Andrea performed at kidsActing with much our current staff including Jenny Foust, Kirk German and Jazmine Miller. As an older teen she eventually went on to assistant teach at the studio. The skills, self- confidence and inspiration Miss Gastelum acquired at kidsActing equipped her for a life in the world of professional theatre. She went on to graduate with honors from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in Theatre and has performed as an actor and puppeteer the world over. She now owns and operates The Mudlark Public Theatre in New Orleans and is the Artistic Director of that space's resident company as well as The Black Forest Fancies.

kidsActing is proud to welcome Andrea back to Center Stage Texas as her company presents The Six Swans and The Nightingale this Thursday and Friday.  Please scroll down to our list of events for more details.

Waking Sleeping Beauty
Waking Sleeping Beauty
Center Stage Texas
August 6-15

Ever wonder what really caused a fairy to put an evil spell on Sleeping Beauty? This musical takes a look back to ancient times, when fairies lived in harmony with people. But even then, teenagers, both fairies and people, needed to rebell against their parents. Fairy magic meets movie magic when the story moves forward to the present; a movie company rents an old dilapidated castle and in the process of shooting a film, encounter a secret room with a sleeping princess. award winning original songs by professional Texas stars including Jerry Jeff Walker, Django Walker, Sara Hickman and more!
