David Bologna returns to Broadway!!!
|
David Bologna in Billy Elliot |
When David Bologna was little he loved to watch The Wizard of Oz. Today he is back on
Broadway starring in Billy Elliot! And in between we have been lucky to have him as a student at
kidsActing.
David caught the acting bug early. When he went on
stage for his first curtain call he was hooked on the sound of the
applause. The stage allows David to express himself, so it's no surprise
that David's favorite moment on stage is performing Expressing Yourself in Billy Elliot. "That's the point of
the song, to just have fun and let go." kidsActing's original musical Bugs! was David's first summer production with us after he moved to Austin from New Orleans because of Hurricane Katrina. He said his favorite moment
was singing I Just Wanna Go Home. It hit a very personal note for David because he was also missing his
home and wishing he could go back to the way life was.
David
has a lot of advice for kidsActing students who want to pursue acting as
a career. "You can't let the no's get to you. You have to believe in
your craft and be comfortable with yourself. You will audition for tons
and tons of things but you will only get a couple."
David will be
performing as Michael now though August 8th. To learn more about Billy Elliot or for tickets to the
show go to www.billyelliotbroadway.com.

Center Stage Texas scholorship student joins the cast of Much Ado About Nothing
|
Three year Center Stage Texas veteran Mustafa Muhammad stars in kidsActing's Much Ado About Nothing as Borachio!
What are you learning during Much Ado About Nothing rehearsals? That standing in a diagonal line is important because then everyone can be seen by the audience. Oh and learning your lines is really important!
Favorite
moment on stage? I played Daddy Warbucks in Annie last semester and I really liked doing his big monologue.
What was your favorite thing about this show onstage? I love playing Borachio because he is an evil dude! I think its easier to play evil characters.
Tell me something about you that we might not know! I like the football, especially the Cowboys and the Titans.
For more information about Center Stage Texas and how you can help fund a scholorship for one of our students please visit www.centerstagetexas.org.

Sleeping Beauty? This musical takes a look back to ancient times, when
fairies lived in harmony with people. But even then, teenagers, both
fairies and people, needed to rebell against their parents. Fairy magic
meets movie magic when the story moves forward to the present; a movie
company rents an old dilapidated castle and in the process of shooting a
film, encounter a secret room with a sleeping princess. award winning
