KidsActing Veteran Talks About His Love of Acting
|
Why did you start coming to kidsActing?
I started at kidsActing when I was in elementary school. I wanted something fun to do in the summer related to theater and it seemed perfect. I've made a lot of great friends and every show has been an amazing experience.
Tell us about your most memorable moment on stage at kidsActing? The death scene in Les Miserables when I played Jean ValJean was a beautiful scene. It made every character on stage feel so connected. It also seemed to have a big impact on the audience. Lots of people commented on it after the show. What was your Favorite Show? Rent, Which I'm playing in now as Mark Cohen. Its a beautiful show filled with a lot of passion.
Why have you stayed? I've made a lot of great friends and every show has been an amazing experience. kidsActing has given me the opportunity to play so many great parts that I never thought I would get to play. Dede has be a constant provider of amazing support.
Eric, your kidsActing family
wants to wish you the best as you move on to college next year. We
will miss you and will always cherish the time that you spent with us.
But
wait! His kidsActing journey doesn't end yet. Eric is also starring
as Daddy Warbucks in our Advanced Class' production of Annie in May and the all-student produced Arsenic and Old Lace here at Center Stage Texas in June.

The Dysons Remember Robin Hood
|
If you ask the Dysons about their favorite show at kidsActing they will tell you without a hesitation Robin Hood. They enjoyed it so much that they are doing it again this semester at school. Peter is Robin Hood in their latest endeavor in Sherwood Forest! The Dysons can also be seen starring in kidsActings production of Treasure Island.
What was your favorite moment at KidsActing?
Katherine: I developed my own
comedic moment onstage during Robin Hood. All
the Merry men were
talking about Robin's enormous ego. Mary, my character, said,
"Eggo?", as I pulled a waffle out of my pocket. All the other merry
Men reply, "No, Ego!" I replied, "Oh. right." and would then take a bite of the waffle. It got a big laugh every time!
What have you learned from kidsActing? Katherine: Jason's a really fun director and I love all the games he plays. Peter: I've learned a lot from Jason about acting. I especially
liked learning about stage combat!
