Why did you start coming to kidsActing? Why did you stay?
I first came to kidsActing when I was nine which I guess makes me...seven years in? Maybe? I came because I liked the idea of it and I stayed because it's amazing and wonderful and I love it.
What was your Favorite Show?
My favorite show that I've done is hands-down Midsummer last summer. I was Puck and I enjoyed playing the role not just because I identify with the character and also because I've always wanted to be Puck. It was great fun, and learning all about the Shakespearean era was amazing | |
What was your most memorable moment on stage at kidsActing?
I think the most memorable moment on stage at kidsActing had to be in the Dark Crystal, which as an interesting show in many ways, but during the show I did a bit of slapstick, sort of, and was thrown across the stage. My wig fell off when I came to a rest, and I don't think I've ever laughed so hard silently.
What have you learned by performing in shows at kidsActing?
I've learned quite a lot. Before I came to kidsActing I was a bit of a weird kid (I've grown into a weird teenager) but coming has helped me to grow up a lot. Spending time with older kids and learning new things helped immensely. However, I think the most important thing that I've learned is how to grow up into a young woman. The largest catalyst for this is my wonderful director Jason, whom without I would never have gotten very far |

Freddies Place Live Music
6pm every Thursday-Saturday Playscape for the little ones!
Music at Central Market Every Friday-Sunday Project Forklift February 12-21 Artistic Director Allison Orr has challenged five of her favorite
Austin dancemakes to choreograph new dances that in some way reflect the mission of Forklift Danceworks for the company's upcoming show. For Project Forklift!, Allison has stipulated that the dances must involve people not typically thought of as dancers or include material
that in some way stretches commonly held perceptions of contemporary
dance. Dances currently in progress include massage therapists, chefs,
waiters, a 74 year-old retired ballet dancer, and a number of electric
bunnies. The piece is long and performed in an intimate space so we would recommended for mature audiences only.

of buccaneers and hidden treasure. Featuring players from the

the infamous Long John Silver, both by land and by sea. This colorful

 May 1-16 Fridays-Sundays Showtimes Vary
Featuring actors from kidsActing's advanced musical
program, Annie tells the story of a plucky orphan from the
1930's determined to find her parents. On her adventure she changes
her life and everyone she comes in contact with: self-centered billionaire
Oliver Warbucks and his loyal secretary Grace; Miss Hannigan, the misguided
orphanage director, and her evil brother Rooster; the "Hard Knock
Life" orphans she lived with, and more. Annie's bright outlook
on the bleak times of the Depression era can be mirrored in today's
tough times: even though things may look down, "the sun will come
out tomorrow".
