A Message from the Garden
Candy Holder
We have arrived and are a couple of weeks into 2009! We are often stuck indoors due to cold, inclement weather and are itching for spring so we can again get our hands dirty and renew our gardens. I chose a snowy picture for the Newsletter heading this month in honor of our northern friends who have to deal with this kind of weather every year. While it is quite beautiful, it can be dangerous, so we wish safety, sunshine, and warming temps for you all!
We are looking forward to a wonderful year of gardening. This will be a year of beautifying our spaces more than ever before as we make our homes a refuge from the world outside. There's no better way to do that than by using the therapy of gardening and decorating.
Join us for the year as we share ideas. And don't forget to share some of yours!
Our readers are wanting to hear from you........so let's get going!

COMING SOON:
Next month we will bring you pictures of our Victory Garden! This is a project that the whole family can enjoy. Not everyone has the luxury of planting a large veggie garden, so watch as we put together the garden for a smaller area. I've started my veggies in the window for this garden and we'll watch the progress in the newsletter over the next couple of months.

Also....more customer submissions......just 'cuz we love to share what you're doing! Visit the photo gallery to see some new additions! (see the link below)

And....I had a great time talking with Brian Santos, The Wall Wizard, who has offered us some great suggestions on painting our pots. I'll let you know as soon as our newest video is available for you. It will be great fun!

Now is the time to be getting ready for Valentine's Day, especially if you intend to decorate rather than plant flowers. This photo shows the display we made from paper mache boxes and shiny bows. For complete instructions and a shopping list, become a member of Friendship's Garden. Re-use your red pot from your Christmas decoration to save time and money. This is a great display for your front porch or a prominent spot inside your home.

For those who prefer to have a live display, here is a great photo of the miniature roses that are always available at your local garden center at Valentine's. What a lovely gift to give your sweetie! This one is made on an Incredible Patio Stand. To order your stand, click here.

Customer Submission

WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE? Absolutely nothing! Here's a little inspiration for you from one of our wholesale customers, John from Scott Aerator, of Holland, Michigan. This is a photo of John's porch, and yes, he built this large Incredible Plant Stand himself. What a great place to sit and relax and enjoy these beautiful flowers spilling over the edges of the pots. Great job, John! John carries aerators for your larger ponds and lakes. Pass his info on to your city or subdivision if they have a need for John's products. Check it out here.
Stay Warm and Cozy!!
It's time to say good-by again.....I could write to you for hours, but, alas, there are other obligations I must attend to. So, be safe and stay warm wherever you are and we'll be back in February with another edition of Garden Whimsy!
Best Regards, Gardeners..
