- Auto-feeding scanners (we REALLY need these!)

- Headsets (Avaya compatible)

- Copy paper

- Cleaning service

- 4-post server rack or cabinet

If you or someone you know would like to donate these items, call us at 503.413.5541.

Thank you for your support!
Greetings!

Today, we are taking this opportunity to share a special message with you in honor of National Doctors Day, which is March 30th. At Bridges to Health Care last week, we honored six volunteer provider clinics and other partners for their outstanding service and generosity: The Oregon Clinic, Pacific Heart Associates, Urologic Consultants, NW Rheumatology Associates, NW Gastroenterology Clinic and Gastroenterology Specialists of Oregon. Physicians in these clinics served nearly 500 Project Access NOW Clients in 2011.

Project Access NOW creates an easy and safe opportunity for volunteers to donate their invaluable skills. We are nothing without our volunteers and most of our volunteers are physicians. We honor all those who graciously and selflessly give their time to help the most vulnerable of our neighbors.

Helen Noonan-Harnesberger Raising Paddle

The first paddle raise of the evening was made by Helen Noonan-Harnsberger, of Providence Health & Services, with a contribution of $5,000 in honor of National Doctors Day.

This contribution was in addition to all that Providence already gives as a Stakeholder. This act was particularly meaningful, coming from Helen, who is considered to be the founder of Pharmacy Bridge. Thanks to her leadership and support, not only does Pharmacy Bridge make medications available to Project Access NOW clients but to many other patients in need throughout region.

Sincerely,

Executive Director

Thanking Dr. Catharina Hoeksema
Dr. Catharina Hoeksema

For general surgeon, Dr. Catharina Hoeksema, volunteering with Project Access NOW is an easy and enjoyable experience. Among the first group of providers to sign up as a volunteer, Dr. Hoeksema has been donating care for over four years through her practice at Hillsboro Advanced Surgical Care. She appreciates the flexibility that Project Access NOW provides for her to determine how many referrals she is able to take in any give period of time, adjusting upward or downward, based on her current situation.

For uninsured patients, often surgeries will be delayed as they are required to "jump through several hoops" before approval is granted to proceed with the surgery. With Project Access NOW, all the paperwork is taken care of. "We've never had to provide any additional information, never had any hassle about the patient being uninsured," she says. Dr. Hoeksema and her office staff appreciate the overall ease of the program. "Patients are very reliable; they show up on time and we have easy access to interpreters if we need them. " Medications are also available through Pharmacy Bridge.

"It has been a very positive experience for me and I certainly look forward to being able to continue to work with Project Access NOW in the future."
