Use the Reaction Path Analyzer to Get a Grip on Your Chemistry

With the Reaction Path Analyzer in CHEMKIN-PRO, you can investigate the inner details of your reaction mechanism's pathways.  The Reaction Path Analyzer provides a customizable visual display of the different reaction pathways that occur in your chemistry model.   Simply select a species to display all the reactions that contribute to the production of that species and the sensitivity of the species fraction to the reaction rates.  You can also view the relative and absolute rates of production for each reaction pathway.  This provides valuable insight into which reactions are important in the production of certain species, such as pollutants (NO, CO, and others), as well as to how the pathways change under different conditions or at different times in the simulation.

You can find out more about the Reaction Path Analyzer in the Application Note on the Reaction Design website.

Model Fuels Consortium Annual Meeting

The highly regarded Model Fuels Consortium (MFC), established for the development of simulation software and data targeted at cleaner and more efficient fuel engine combustion for automobiles, is now in its third year and held its annual meeting this month in beautiful San Diego, California.

Building on the MFC's success, the second phase, MFC-II, held its kick-off meeting during the same week.

Members representing the worldwide automotive engine and fuels industry gathered for an overview of the consortium's excellent progress and to determine future steps needed to meet the increasing demands for faster and more accurate engine simulation.
