Use your CFD results to accurately predict emissions with the CHEMKIN-PRO Multi-zone model

You can provide non-reacting flow information to the Multi-Zone Engine Model from your CFD simulation up until the onset of ignition. Once the ignition process starts, kinetic details will be provided by the chemical mechanism in CHEMKIN-PRO. Using information from the "cold-flow" CFD simulation up to a pre-ignition point, allows more effective estimation of initial conditions for the Multi-Zone Engine Model, which allows for more accurate calculation of ignition delay and emissions.

Wouldn't it be great if you could use the power of detailed chemistry to accurately model emissions and predict the lean blow off (LBO) tendency of a gas turbine combustor in a virtual environment?  Would saving your company millions of dollars in development and reducing time-to-market by months make you a hero?

Stay tuned for an exciting announcement from Reaction Design!

CHEMKIN-PRO Webinars get overwhelming response

Reaction Design held its first CHEMKIN-PRO Webinar in July.  This new and exciting learning opportunity was a great success and registrations for all three sessions were booked to full capacity.

Due to the overwhelming response, we will be offering more CHEMKIN-PRO webinars later this year.  Look for announcements in our future newsletters and on our website.

Model Fuels Consortium (MFC) Mid-year Meeting

The Model Fuels Consortium, the highly regarded, industry funded, project for the development of cleaner burning, higher-mileage vehicles, held its mid-year meeting in Dearborn, Michigan and Tokyo, Japan this July.  Members from all over gathered for an overview of the consortium's excellent progress now in its third year.

CHEMKIN Forum in Japan a Great Success

We would like to thank Ryoka Systems Inc., Reaction Design's exclusive software distributor in Japan, for organizing the CHEMKIN Forum meeting and training in Tokyo, Japan. Thank you to all of the commercial and academic participants for making the Forum such a success!

Attendees at the forum were impressed with the lectures given by Dr. Charlie Westbrook, widely regarded as one of the pioneers of combustion modeling, together with Professor Mitsuo Koshi from the University of Tokyo, and  Dr. Chitral Naik and Scott Drennan of Reaction Design.

CHEMKIN-PRO Training - August 12-14, 2008

Space is still available for the upcoming CHEMKIN-PRO training class intended for users of all abilities to be held in San Diego, California on August 12-14, 2008.

This course will review CHEMKIN fundamentals, provide practical examples of CHEMKIN applications, and introduce new features of CHEMKIN-PRO including a full day dedicated to the Particle Tracking Module.
