It's Been 5 Years!

May 5, 2010 will mark the 5th Anniversary that the Law Office of Lorie L. Burch, PC has been up and running!  When I moved back to Texas in the Fall of 2004, I could never have imagined the wonderful client relationships, business contacts, and great friends I would make in just a few short years.  It hasn't always been easy, but I am so grateful that all of you have truly helped make my dream into a reality.

So, thanks to each and every one of you for playing a vital role in making my practice a success. I hope you have enjoyed being a part of the beginning as much as I have enjoyed sharing it with you.  Here's to many more anniversaries!  I can't wait to see what the future has in store.

Your friend,
Lorie

Death and Social Networking

For a lot of people, Facebook and other social networking sites host a great deal of important and personal information.  So what does that have to do with death?  Well, I'm not known for bringing up topics that people want to think about, and just when you thought that your social networking was a safe haven from my doom and gloom, I have one question: What happens to that information when you pass away?

Facebook has thought of this, of course, and has actually provided some tools to address what to do with a Facebook profile in the event of death.  I strongly recommend to my clients that they provide their loved ones and/or executors with their log-in information to prevent the possibility of having to sue Facebook for access to your profile.
