Pray that Congress
will realize there is a nation at war a few feet from our southern border.
PRAY INTO PEOPLE
Sheriff Sigi Gonzalez of Zapata County, Texas is a
strategically placed law-enforcement official we need to support in
prayer. In 2005 Sheriff Gonzalez was
instrumental in contacting other Sheriffs along the Texas border and out of
that was born the Texas Border Sheriffs' Coalition. He is currently the Chairman of the Southwest Border Sheriffs'
Coalition, which formed because of the TX Coalition, and includes the Sheriffs
in counties close to the border throughout CA, AZ, NM and TX.
Sheriff Gonzalez is one of the primary speakers at the Border
Schools hosted by the Border Sheriff's Posse, and he is a great supporter of
the Posse. He also has an uncanny
understanding of what is happening on our southern border.
Sheriff Gonzalez is not afraid to speak the truth, and he
speaks his mind even when it isn't the popular thing to do. He has reached out to Washington, has
testified before Congress several times, and has done all he knows to do to
bring the attention of the federal government to bear on our southern
border.
Sheriff Gonzalez and his wife Carmen are two very special
people. They have such a loving and
respectful relationship that they are a joy to be around.
Last night I spoke to Carmen, and they had just been out purchasing a new freezer because theirs, also new and recently stocked with food, quit
and they lost everything. Her husband
was out throwing away the wasted food. As Carmen shared, she was positive and upbeat, but the Lord
reminded me that we need to support and protect front line people from this
kind of harassment. These kinds of
things are a drain on their time, energy and resources, and harassment of them
is all too common.
When we support law-enforcement officials we stand with the
Lord on the side of law and order.
Sheriff Gonzalez recognizes that there is an agenda that is contrary to
the best interests of the people of the U.S.
He is accountable to the citizens in his county, and he expects the
federal government to be accountable to the citizens of the U.S.
Please join me as I
increase prayer cover for this wonderful Sheriff, his family and his areas of
responsibility.
REPORT FROM MONTERREY, MEXICO
Toll Road Shootout -
Wednesday night - Shootout last night at only restroom/gas/food stop on the toll road where I used to travel to Houston (through
Reynosa/McAllen) when a Federal convoy noticed 40 subjects driving
late-model trucks and armored trucks, including a Hummer with armor) parked
outside the only place where everyone stops (halfway to U.S.). When the
army entered the parking lot, they were met with bullets. The shootout lasted 2 hours, with some
criminals running away and carjacking vehicles on the toll road. Grenades
inside the vehicles exploded when they were fired upon. Bullets to the
restaurant's windows/doors left huge holes in the concrete and broken glass on
the floor of the restaurant. Some of the criminals used the restrooms
(like rest area places) to shoot from, demolishing the restroom. Some of
the gas attendants were wounded as they tried to take shelter away from the
pumps.
This was the worst
public shootout between the army and cartels that I've heard of and is
especially shocking on this toll road (considered safest), with much traffic
and business at this establishment. I see a new boldness developing in
the cartels this week, hopefully from desperation. The Zetas cartel that
all other 7 have joined to destroy are the most vicious and brazen of all, made up of former elite military units
trained in the U.S. by our special forces. They're the ones who dismember
people and leave heads, warning banners, etc. at schools, even staging
shootouts across the street from schools.
Terror
on Monterrey Highways (well-lit, 4-lane) - Wednesday night -
Persons driving to Monterrey from the east side of town (and Reynosa) were randomly attacked, having their windows
and vehicles broken and damaged. These events occurred simultaneously in
several points of the artery along three municipalities: Guadalupe, Juarez and
Cadereyta. Private cars, vans and other
vehicles, were attacked with pipes, leaving some units completely across the
road and abandoned when their drivers fled. Others were able to continue
driving their vehicles out of the area after being damaged. Someone who
stopped to help, thinking
it was an accident, said, "I saw the cars and stopped to see if I could help because I thought
they'd hit, but suddenly an angry kid started to break the windows of my car
with a bat or a stick, and I returned to my car and drove away fast."
The
tollbooth employees blocked the path of motorists and diverted them to the
highway to the airport to keep them from also being attacked. Some people
who came from Reynosa expressed that similar events had occurred at different
points of highways and the toll road. Officers of Guadalupe Police
arrived, but no detainees.
One intercessor reports that Monterrey, MX is the hub for
everything (business and illegal activity) between Mexico and the U.S. Let's join intercessors in that area in
praying the Lord will continue using the cartel violence to uncover and deal with the extreme corruption of Monterrey and
the State of Nuevo Leon.
TWO WEEKS TO LIVE
The life of Juarez Mayor
Jose Reyes Ferriz was threatened Wednesday morning. A pig's head was found next to a sign, which stated in part, "you
have two weeks to live." By way of
explanation, Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, the head of the Sinaloa cartel and
Mexico's most wanted man, uses the term "marranos," which means pigs in
Spanish, as a derogatory reference to the Juarez cartel. Let's pray for the safety of Mayor Ferriz
and his family (who already live in El Paso). Pray for him to have wisdom and the ability
to lead Juarez, Mexico's most violent city.
FYI - the term "marranos" was also used to refer to Jews who lived in Mexico
during Mexico's Inquisition, when Jews who did
not convert to Christianity (Catholicism) were burned at the stake.
VIDEO OF 911 CALLS reporting a gun battle 02.23.10, the first night of major shoot-outs in Nuevo Laredo, across from Laredo, TX. Callers could not tell if the shots were coming from Mexico or the U.S.
A MESSAGE FOR THE INTERCESSORS OF MEXICO
A
beautiful "pastora" has been translating the Posse Bulletins into Spanish and
circulating them for use by intercessors in her state in Mexico. I know I speak for intercessors in the
United States when I say we love you and we stand with you for the safety of
your nation and the salvation of your people.
When you read something that might sound critical of Mexico, please
remember that we are trying to look at the situation honestly. Because of the severity of the siege you are
under we are currently focused on what is happening to you and within your
nation. We also
desire to look honestly at our own nation and repent before the Lord for our
many sins. If ever there was a time to
unite in heart and spirit this is it.
In order for this earth to be made ready to receive her King, many
changes are going to be taking place. We
love you.
Let's all of us join our
hands and hearts across the border as we pray, "the kingdoms of this world will
become the Kingdoms of our God and of His Christ."
