Border Sheriff's Posse 03.03.10
|
Dear Posse,
There is a short update on the Drug War today.
The report of a shoot-out last night between the Mexican
military and the cartels just across the Rio Grande from Laredo has so far been
unconfirmed.
In a discussion about whether or not there is still a truce
between cartels fighting for turf along the border, I was told the reason
things are still quiet along the border is because the cartels are heading to
Monterrey and the interior of Mexico.
Word is those local governments are preparing for potential
violence.
We must continue to be on high alert here along the southern
border of the nation, as violence could always erupt at any time. In the days ahead I will write about the
potential impact on the United States if there is a significant spillover of
violence.
Many of you who have written recently have expressed the
desire to pray for our law enforcement officials. This has been a burden of mine for some time. Following is a Posse Letter first sent in
June of 2008, which I believe is just as important today, and maybe more so, as
it was then.
May we line up on the side of those whose job it is to
secure law and order and in so doing overcome the work of the lawless one.
Pam
Praying for Law Enforcement COUNTY BY COUNTY 06.18.08
When I was asked to pray for Law Enforcement officers at the Texas
Republican State Convention Prayer Rally on Friday, June 13, 2008, I prayed the
SHERIFF acronym publicly for the first time. Please join me in
calling the nation to pray COUNTY BY COUNTY for law enforcement.
Following are excerpts from my introductory remarks and the prayer.
Pam In the giving of the Ten Commandments, our moral
compass, we see the Lord's desire for people to be governed by His laws in our
hearts and that He has purposed for us to live in an orderly society.
1 Tim. 2:1-2 "Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers,
intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and ALL WHO
ARE IN AUTHORITY, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness
and reverence." The principles the Lord intended for us to live by
were woven into the very fabric and foundation of the United States. Because of
this we have remained a strong, vibrant nation.
In 2003 a decree went out across our beloved land. Though there had been many
contests, when the Ten Commandments were removed from the courthouse in
Montgomery, Alabama, it was as though lawlessness became UNRESTRAINED in this
land. That same year I stood in the Federal courthouse on the spot where those
Ten Commandments had once been, and wept.
2 Thess. 2 speaks of lawlessness and the coming lawless one. We
read that God has been in His temple RESTRAINING lawlessness, and will do so
until He moves out of the way.
I am deeply filled with gratitude that we have been allowed to live in a land
governed by the rule of law, built on godly principles, where the role of
government is to RESTRAIN EVIL. Recently I have sensed the Lord's heart concerning the law
enforcement community. He is blessed by those whose chosen profession is to
preserve law and order, those whose work helps ensure our quiet and peaceable
lives.
The Lord has spoken to me to call Christians in this nation to stand with the
law enforcement community through prayer. He said to pray COUNTY BY COUNTY
using the word SHERIFF (the highest law
enforcement official in the county). I pray regularly for those in
authority in my county, and I also now pray COUNTY BY COUNTY as I travel. When
I leave El Paso County I pray for Sheriff Arvin West and all law enforcement in
Hudspeth County, and as I cross into Culberson County I pray for Sheriff Oscar
Carrillo and all law enforcement officers in that county. If I don't know the
name of the sheriff in Jeff Davis County, I still pray for him as well as all
others. For me this represents a shift in my thinking. As a prayer
person I have stood AGAINST lawlessness, and this now causes me to stand WITH
law enforcement - those who enforce law and order.
Please think of
your county sheriff, your police chief and all of the law enforcement community
in your county as you pray along with me, using the acronym
SHERIFF. Heavenly Father, I thank You for this opportunity to pray for those who have
committed their lives to protecting us, those who are charged with keeping the
borders of our nation secure, those whose responsibility it is to help us live
quiet and peaceful lives, so that as 1 Tim. 2 tells us, "all men may be saved
and come to the knowledge of the TRUTH."
Father, I ask You to protect
each sheriff, police chief, and the men and women in their departments, as well
as all Border Patrol agents, Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers, State
Patrol officers and all other law enforcement officials in our respective
counties.
Using the word SHERIFF, we pray first of all for their:
SAFETY - We ask You to protect them from evil and
harm, whether in the line of duty or in the daily routine of their lives. Let
them experience the blessing of Ps. 4:8. " I will both lie down in peace and
sleep, for You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in
safety." HEALTH - Lord, I pray that the body, soul and
spirit of each officer would prosper, and they would be in health. Help them
know how to cooperate with You to prevent sickness and disease. Teach them to
release stress and to take care of their physical bodies.
EFFECTIVENESS - Please give these men and women the tools,
training and skills to be effective in their work. Let the leading of Your
Spirit manifest as a keen sense of intuition and discernment. May they be able
to distinguish the truth from a lie. RESPONSIBILITY -
Lord, the responsibility these officers carry is enormous. Please teach them to
shoulder it well. May they be just and honorable in their dealings with the
citizens of each county. Let each officer not think more highly of himself than
he ought. Rather, let him see his work as being an extension of Your work in
our land.
INTEGRITY - In Pr. 11:3 Your word tells us, "the integrity of
the upright will guide them." We ask that this be the creed of the law
enforcement officers in our counties. May they be guided by integrity that
comes from a clean heart. Keep them from yielding to temptation. May they be
the same when no one is watching as when the whole world is watching, for You
are always watching. Lord, this is a special request. Please consider
every law enforcement officer who has ever been accused, prosecuted and
imprisoned unjustly. Vindicate them and set them free.
FAMILY - May those charged with keeping us safe have the
confidence at all times that You are watching over their families. As they
leave home each day may they entrust every family member to You and to Your
loving care. Please keep their families free from the fear of the danger each
officer faces daily. FAITH - Lord, these men and women
see so much of the difficult side of life. Would You please continually remind
them that You are real and You love them. When they are alone and they wonder,
"God, if You are there, how could You let this happen?" please comfort them and
remind them of just how real You are. Father, the nature of these officers'
work makes it difficult to trust people. Please give each one safe
relationships they can count on, but most of all, help them to feel safe with
You.
Lord, I ask You to protect each law enforcement officer in our counties. Guide
their steps and direct their paths as they go about their daily
responsibilities. Give them clarity to make right decisions. Let them be able
to weigh a matter and come to the right conclusion. Give them sharp reasoning
skills. When lives depend on split second decisions, let their decisions be the
right ones. Please provide for the deep needs of their hearts and
lives, whether emotional, spiritual or physical.
Thank You, Lord, that these men and women have sworn to uphold the law
and chosen to cooperate with You to protect us and our nation. You are God,
just and righteous. You are our Lawgiver. In Your great love and mercy, You
knew we needed to live by the rule of law. We stand with these officers as
they join You in standing against lawlessness in our nation. Protect us
all from the lawless one by causing us to open our hearts to receive the
love of the Truth - the One Who is The Way, The Truth, and The Life.
And, Lord, bless and secure the borders of The United States of
America. In the name of Jesus, Your most precious Son. Amen

| ABOUT THE BORDER SHERIFF'S POSSE |
LinkAmerica sponsors the Border Sheriff's Posse
to "ride" the U.S. borders in intercession and to "pardner" with
intercessors around the United States to protect the 26 counties along
the US/Mexico border. It is critical that we take our place on this
fence.
You won't be flooded by email, but I periodically send specific information and prayer points. We support ALL law enforcement agencies, pray that illegal activity will be stopped (drugs, human trafficking, etc.) and declare that those who are slipping across America's borders with the intent to cause harm be exposed and apprehended.
This is not about politics! This is about the protection of the United States of America. I was visiting with a prophetic intercessor who did not know about the Border Sheriff's Posse when she pointed her finger and said, "And right now God is pinning badges on hidden intercessors.....like a Sheriff's badge," and, with that, she poked her finger into my shoulder! Are you being "deputized by 'The Sheriff' to aid in law enforcement?" Will you join me as we ride with the Lord, our Border Sheriff? We'll "ride" the fence. We'll catch rustlers, mend spiritual fences and sing some great trail songs along the way as we worship over our borders. Please use the Subscribe link at the top of this email to join the Posse.
