This report just in from a very
strategic border intelligence source ......
There is a gun battle taking
place RIGHT NOW in the town of Nuevo Progreso, MX, and the city has been
closed down. We are being asked to pray, and we are reminded that the
media reports nothing (no surprise-I keep a file on murdered journalists). This
report originally came from people who are starting an orphanage in Nuevo
Progreso, MX. Let's stop and pray right now for the safety of the people
of Nuevo Progreso. May they cry out to the Lord for His mercy and
help.
Lord, send Your angels right now to protect the families and people
of Nuevo Progreso.
The reports closed with this - "It sounds like the whole border is erupting."
It does indeed. Following are several updates I received today.
SAN IGNACIO
San Ignacio is a cross-border community
(spans the border) 50 miles north of Zapata, TX. Shots coming from the MX
side of the community were heard on the US side. The whole town was
alarmed. Border Patrol was alerted, and
they treated it like a very serious threat. The school (in the United
States!) was in lockdown with lights off and kids hiding under their
desks. Mexican military troops were activated, and 6 MX military humvees
swept the area and found nothing on the MX side. The people of San
Ignacio were so shaken that a nearby Sheriff's Dept. sent 8 cars to patrol
the area and calm the people.
GUERRERO, MX
There is an unconfirmed report that
there were 3 hangings in Guerrero today. The word in Guerrero is that the
territory now belongs to El Chapo Guzman, head of the Sinaloa Cartel. All the
police are gone, and the cartel has its own Police Department. They even
answer calls. It is common in MX for the cartels to have their own Police
Departments.
It has been reported that the Falcon
Heights area (Guerrero) is pretty bad. The fighting began there
yesterday, and I was told it should have subsided by now.
MIGUEL ALEMAN, MX
A source told me there are now 6
different Police Departments patrolling the town of Miguel Aleman, across from
Roma, TX. Each one represents a certain cartel, according to my source,
who cried, "It's totally out of control, totally out of
control." There is also a report that men with guns went into the
Ochoa Clinic in the town and mowed down 2 or 3 doctors. Six police
officers are still missing from Miguel Aleman. They are presumed
dead.
According to my source, the most
volatile areas are between Roma and San Ignacio, TX, and between Nuevo Laredo
and Reynosa, MX. These areas were called "hot spots." I was told that the fighting is much like
the house-to-house fighting in Iraq that we see on TV.
When asked for thoughts about the
violence spilling over the border right now, my source answered, "They've
got to take control of their turf before thinking of coming to the US looking
for their enemies."
Cliff Bell, a friend to the Border
Sheriff's Posse, is the Christian International-Mexico Director. As he left this morning to drive through
Reynosa to Monterrey, he heard the State Department's warning against traveling
to Nuevo Laredo, Reynosa or Monterrey. Cliff will be ministering in
Monterrey tonight through the weekend. Let's pray for the Lord to move
powerfully in those meetings and to protect Cliff as he travels. I was so
blessed when he said, "I only go where I know I am supposed to
go." That's the place of safety for all of us!
The only way people in MX can be
certain their calls won't be overheard is to use Nextel phones that can't be
traced. Let's pray a significant number of MX citizens will be able
to get information out and that law-enforcement officials in the US will
receive useful human intelligence.
The plea for help in the following report from Channel 5 in Weslaco is heartbreaking.
WESLACO - CHANNEL 5 NEWS is getting e-mails from across the border from people pleading for help.
One e-mail conveys fear and
uncertainty.
The e-mailer from
Reynosa tells us, "We need your
help. We are in
danger. We can see men with guns
on the street above 30 or 40 persons. No newspapers or local TV
are allowed to give us info. This is real. (It) is not a joke. We can't go to the school, to our jobs.
We can't go out of our homes.
I hope you can hear us.
We have
children. They listen (to) the
gunshots all night, and now we can hear even
in the day. There is a war out
here. Someone is trying to take
out one cartel of drugs to put another. Our police can't help us, because they are with the
mafia. We need help because our
Governors say that nothing happens in our
land, (that) everything is
right. But they have guards and
armored cars, so they really think is alright
and nothing happens. Please, this is
serious. And I hope you can see this message and help us to bring the
peace again. This is not life if
you have family here."
CHANNEL 5 is reporting numerous reports of gunfire and gun battles in several cities in Mexico along the
border.

Join me in the the following prayer, sent by Sally Frahm of Austin. Pam "Father, I ask for your intervention. You have promised that when the enemy comes in like a flood, you will raise a banner. I ask now that a banner of intercession will be raised over the border, that you will put a stop order on all this violence, innocent lives being snuffed out, the lawlessness approaching. We speak death to this spirit and join our prayers and hands with our Mexican sisters and brothers, supporting the angels in the heavenlies who are doing battle over this region. May we stand with them. Because of Jesus. Amen."
