LinkAmerica sponsors the Border Sheriff's Posse to "ride" the U.S. borders in intercession and to "pardner" with intercessors around the United States to protect the 26 counties along the US/Mexico border.  It is critical that we take our place on this fence.   
 
I periodically send specific information and prayer points.  We support ALL law enforcement agencies, pray that illegal activity will be stopped (drugs, human trafficking, etc.) and declare that those who are slipping across America's borders with the intent to cause harm be exposed and apprehended.  This is not about politics!  This is about the protection of the United States of America.  
 
I was visiting with a prophetic intercessor who did not know about the Border Sheriff's Posse when she pointed her finger and said, "And right now God is pinning badges on hidden intercessors.....like a Sheriff's badge," and, with that, she poked her finger into my shoulder!   
 
Are you one of those being "deputized by 'The Sheriff' to aid in law enforcement."  Will you join me as we ride with the Lord, our Border Sheriff?  We'll "ride" the fence.  We'll catch rustlers, mend spiritual fences and sing some great trail songs along the way.

CARTEL VIOLENCE ESCALATES      08.26.08
 
Dear Posse,
 
If you don't have time to read through this right away, please skip to the last paragraph about the California Pastors Strategic Protect Marriage conference call which will take place Wednesday morning, Aug. 27.   
 
DISTURBING HEADLINES
 
Today's El Paso Times headlines read, "Cartels threaten hits in U.S." 
 
Previously it has been understood that the cartels have not sanctioned sicarios (hit men) operating in the U.S. (though there certainly have been cartel murders in this country).  Now it is reported that local and federal law enforcement agencies have received intelligence that Mexican drug cartels have been given pemission to go after their targets in the U.S., and law enforcement is on alert.
 
SOARING HOMICIDE RATE
 
The almost 900 homicides in Juarez this year have included street shootings at all times of the day, mass killings and executions of law enforcement officers.  We have been told that if the killings continue at the current rate the total could reach 2000 by the end of 2008.
 
HOMELAND INSECURITY
 
During the 2-day Border Security Conference recently held at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) Aug. 11-12, FBI Director Robert Mueller told us that modern organized crime organizations are "border-less."  He added that the FBI is "deeply concerned about high levels of drug trafficking, human smuggling, and gang activity," as well as with the surge in violent crimes linked to the drug trade such as homicides, kidnappings and extortion.
 
The themes of the conference centered around border protection and effective commerce, the ever-present, Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP).
 
THIS BEARS REPEATING
 
Please do not miss this--safety issues and economic issues have been "married, joined together" and will be what forces us to give up more freedoms so that we can have a false sense of security and be convinced the only way our nation can prosper is by all of these trade alliances.
 
At the conclusion of his message to the Border Security Conference, Director Mueller quoted from a speech President John Kennedy gave to Canada, stating that it was equally true of our relationship with Mexico.
 
"Geography has made us neighbors.
History has made us friends.
Economics has made us partners.
Necessity has made us allies." 
 
Then he prophetically declared (not all prophetic declarations are from our team), "What God has joined together, let no man put asunder!"
 
I hope we can begin to understand that the destabilization of our borders is no accident.  You are free to choose how far you want to take this, of course.  The enemy of our souls certainly has a plan and this could be happening randomly because of his influence, OR, you could see this as more of a conspiracy where some of the players calling the shots know what they are doing.  "Father, please guide us into all truth."
 
SPEAKING OF BORDERLESS
 
U.S. law enforcement has detected Mexican drug cartels in nearly 200 U.S. cities (I told you it was coming to a city near you!) and practically every state.  I hope to be able to provide a map soon.
 
A United Nations report released last year indicated the Juarez cartel has a presence in more than 35 nations.  And that's just the Juarez cartel.
 
I WOULD LIKE TO TELL YOU...
 
About the 20 murders this past week-end, OR, that Mon, Aug. 13 was called Bloody Monday because the death toll reached 15--one of the bloodiest days of this year, OR, that a confirmed cartel "hit list" naming El Paso and So. New Mexico residents was shared with law enforcement officials in June (wonder if they now have the go-ahead) OR, that just across from San Diego in Tijuana, MX, police chased an alleged drug cartel hit man through the steets into a crowded casino, arresting him and an accomplice after hundreds of freightened gamblers were ordered to the floor, OR, how gunmen burst into a religious service at a drug rehab center in Juarez, leaving 8 dead, including the pastor leading the service, and several more in critical condition, OR, the man wanted in connection with one of the most heinous mass killings in recent times, the drug related massacre of 19 people (including 8 children) in Ensenada, Baja California, was captured days ago in Los Angeles, OR, of 3 Mexican motocross racers (including a famous 5 time Mexican national supercross champion) who were fatally shot Monday, OR...., OR.... !

Stephanie Steele, who leads the California Governor's Prayer Team, sent a link to the web site of the Border Governor's Conference that was recently hosted by California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger in Hollywood.  His wife, Maria Shriver, led a panel to expose the plight of women who are being trafficked--literally bought and sold against their will.  I strongly encourage you to go to the web site (www.bordergovernors.ca.gov/) and become more informed about this crisis.      
 
CA STATEWIDE PASTORS STRATEGIC PROTECT MARRIAGE CONF. CALL
 
The third pastors conference call will be held Wednesday, Aug. 26, at 10 AM Pacific Time.  On the first call nearly 1700 pastors and leaders joined in, and the second call climbed to 3,400.  The first two calls provided a "crash education," and we heard from many pastors, as well as Jim Dobson, Tony Perkins, Lou Engle, Chuck Colson, and several attorneys.  The host pastor for these calls is Dr. Jim Garlow of Skyline Wesleyan Church in San Diego.  The third call, Wednesday morning, will focus on equipping and training.  .

I'll close with a quote from an El Paso Times article about Juarez, dated 08.21.08, which read, "Crime is planting terror at all social levels." 
 
Rusty Flemming, producer of the documentary film, Drug Wars, has been working on another project to expose the violent Zeta's operating along the border.  People who have previously spoken on camera are suddenly afraid.  Rusty stated, "FEAR is keeping previously credible sources from telling the truth."  Please join me in praying that Rusty will be able to finish this project and that it will have the same impact as Drug Wars, which exposes the reality of what is coming to the United States if we don't stop it NOW."
