Downtown A.R.T. Project Call for Artists - Deadline April 27
The Downtown Partnership invites artists to participate in the Downtown A.R.T. Project by submitting original works of art to be applied to the traffic signal boxes within the Downtown Business Improvement District.
The goal of the A.R.T. project is to add vibrant public art to the streetscape and decrease the instances of graffiti, poster and sticker vandalism on these surfaces. Once applied with art, rather than attracting vandalism the boxes will be functional pieces of public art that contribute significantly to the vitality and attractiveness of the downtown streetscape. This project is being implemented by the Downtown Bozeman Partnership in conjunction with the following organizations: Montana Department of Transportation, City of Bozeman, Downtown Business Improvement District, and the Clean Slate Group.Read More

What's New - May 2012
There are always new things happening in the Downtown Bozeman area. Whether it's a new business opening, an existing business remodeling or just a simple update, I want to keep you informed about what going on in Downtown Bozeman!
Hattie Rex, Now Open in Downtown
When Tessa Long began baking and selling homemade dog treats in Missouri in 2007, she never imagined what her business would grow into! While living in Rolla, MO and teaching Spanish at a local high school, Tessa recognized a need for pet products in her community. She quickly turned her idea into a small business by selling her homemade treats locally and attending small craft shows throughout the Midwest. As she traveled to the craft shows, she also began to notice a need for other pet products such as dog tags that were not mass produced; and that is where Tessa's entrepreneurial story begins. High Country Grill Opens Inside R-Bar
Owner and chef of the new High Country Grill, Chip Bales, is fulfilling his "lifelong dream" of owning his own restaurant after working in all aspects of the restaurant industry since he was in high school. Now open inside the Rocking R Bar at 211 East Main Street, Chip is taking the "bar food" concept to the next level. With extensive experience under his belt by working at nationally known restaurants like Emerill's in New Orleans and other popular establishments in Asheville, NC and Charleston, NC and many locally known restaurants such as Buck T-4 on highway 191, The Mint in Belgrade and the Timbers in Big Sky; Chip is ready to take that experience to create something all his own and offer Bozeman something he is sure we will love. Bozeman Community Mural, Announcement and Unveiling Celebration Project MArt (More Art) and founders Allison McGree and Maggie Carlson are collaborating with the Downtown Bozeman Partnership to create a student-driven community mural that will soon be installed and on display at 229-233 East Main Street. The 229-233 East Main location currently sits empty with a plywood barrier after the 2009 downtown explosion when the building was significantly impacted by the explosion and was eventually torn down. Now, with this location's future uncertain, the Downtown Bozeman Partnership and Project MArt along with students from Hawthorne School are in the midst of creating a mural that will be installed at this location for the community to enjoy until this location's future is decided. The mural will be installed the week of May 21st and will continue to be on display for all to enjoy until the property is purchased. Read More
