3rd Annual Bobcat Fest on Main 

 

BobcatFestWe are pleased to announce that on Friday, April 29th from 5-8pm we will be hosting a gathering of MSU students, faculty and the Bozeman community on Main Street from Tracy to Bozeman Avenues in Downtown Bozeman.  We'll be closing down Main Street to invite everyone to enjoy mixing by DJ Michelangelo and live music by Landlocked.  There will also be free Redneck Sausages, hot dogs and hamburgers, and Pepsi products as well as other free items for students and faculty with appropriate identification such as "Senior Send-Off" cups and drink tickets, Bobcat Spirit t-shirts, koozies and more!  There will also be some other great prizes raffled off throughout the evening!  Don't miss this great chance to get the MSU community together in Downtown to help thank MSU for being an essential part of the Bozeman Community through food and fun! New Downtown Parking Study   

 

The Bozeman Parking Commission and Downtown Bozeman Partnership hparking logoave released the 2011 Downtown Parking Study that identifies the various parking assets and uses in the downtown district. The study takes a comprehensive look at not only types and amount of parking but also identifies how the parking is being utilized.

 

  • 5,034  total number of parking spaces downtown
  • 2,426 number of public parking spaces downtown
  • 1,007 number of unrestricted, free public spaces 
  • 125 number of handicap accessible spaces
  • 49 average length of stay per vehicles in minutes

New Owners at the Great Rocky Mountain Toy Company

 

After the downtown explosion in March of 2009, the future of a staple downtown Bozeman business, the Great Rocky Mountain Toy Company was questionable.  Although the building that once housed the business wasn't completeThe Great Rocky Mountain Toy Companyly destroyed like many of the other buildings in the accident, it withstood substantial damage and eventually had to be demolished.  Then owners Julia and Scott Anderson decided to reopen this iconic business one block west at 111 East Main Street. Read More. 

 

Long Time Country Bookshelf Employee Now Owner

 

Ariana Paliobagis has recently taken over as new owner of the Country Bookshelf and according to her, "has been a dream since I was a child...all I want to do is share books with the world."  She also notes that, "It's kind of a fairy tale!"   

In 2006, Ariana was attending Montana State UCountry Bookshelfniversity and was very excited when she saw a small "we're hiring" sign in the front door of the Country Bookshelf and decided to apply.  After graduating with her undergraduate degree in English, Ariana continued through her Master's degree while continuing to work nearly full time at the book store.  Mary Jane DiSanti, the then owner, according to Ariana, "always worked with me on my busy schedule so that I could continue to work here throughout my studies."  All along Ariana loved working at the Country Bookshelf and after completing her Master's, she started to take on more responsibilities and realized that she "wanted to spend all her time at the Country Bookshelf." Read More.
