Radiant Hands was recently advised by a case worker in the Dept. of Health, of a single mom (Ms. ZZ) who had taken in her emancipated minor sister, who attends school full time and has a 13 mo child.  The problem arose that the minimum wage job could not support two families and manage unexpected car repair problems. Yet Ms. ZZ could not tell her sister to leave and thus fell behind in her rent. Radiant Hands referred Ms. ZZ to the Second Generation Dignity Project with the hope of getting her car fixed and in the meantime, assisted with a payment for the part of the overdue rent. Unfortunately, the current funding situation didn't permit full payment or assistance with car repairs.

As you know, these are really tough times and trying to make ends meet is a challenge for most people.  Now, please try to imagine yourself in this circumstance: single parent earning  minimuim wage, taking care of sibling and their infant,  no money for car repairs, paying for transportation to work and falling  behind with rent  payments. Radiant Hands is known as the "go to" agency in the community when times are the bleakest and no other assistance is available.  However, we cannot offer help and hope without your financial support.
