Summer is almost upon us and life is generally slowing down - right?
Not for everyone.
Some community members are hard at work trying to improve their education while at the same time working low-end jobs. They are taking online classes in order to prepare to take the GED exam. Others are studying at night after their job has finished, the kids are in bed and the housework is done. Perhaps all they need at this time is someone to believe in them and offer a little assistance to get over this hurdle of exam/course expense. In other words: Someone to invest in them while they are trying to invest in their future.
A recent article in the Gainesville Sun, said that those who support local charities are, in fact, investing in the future of the community.
Radiant Hands is requesting that you invest in Gainesville by donating to Radiant Hands. You can even designate where you would like to apply the donation: scholarship, housing, utilities, general use or zakat. Since Jan. 1, 2012, Radiant Hands has distributed approximately $7,245 to needy community members and funding is getting dangerously low.
Now is a good time to make a difference.
