Greetings!
Who have you helped
This past month Radiant Hands has been able to assist several area families in their time of need. We paid the rent for a single mother of three whose son got sick causing her to miss a week's work. Without this income she fell behind in her payments and because she was working she was ineligible for assistance. Unfortunately, the housing authority was not willing to work with her and had started eviction proceedings. In addition to helping with the overdue rent, we were able to convince the landlord to withdraw the fines and court fees. With our intervention, the family was able to stay in their home and she will be able to get back on the financial track.
We (actually everyone who supports Radiant Hands) also helped a working single mother of two with a Walmart Card for miscellaneous items not covered by Medicaid. Her son has been battling illness for the last 4 months and the extra medication, diapers etc were just beyond the means of this young woman. It was also possible to help a single parent with two children, offset some "out of pocket" expenses the family faced while one of the children underwent surgery. In addition, RH assisted a single parent family by purchasing medication for the son so he would not have to take less so they could stretch the dose.
We are pleased to be able to help these and others in times of stress and emergency, and it is all made possible from your donations. Thank you for remembering Radiant Hands either by Check, PayPal or payroll deduction at UF.

Great New!
Radiant Hands Inc. has been accepted for the third year in a row to the University of Florida Community Campaign. This program is administered by United Way and the review process is extremely rigorous and competitive. After reviewing the records of RH, the University felt we met both their criteria and the requirements of United Way as a charitable organization and are worthy of being accepted into their program.
If you work at the University, you will soon have an opportunity to donate automatically to Radiant Hands by Payroll Deduction. Our organization number will be #3030.
We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to everyone who has supported us in various ways over the last 5 years and hope that you will continue supporting our endeavors. This program is the easiest way to make donations.

Radiant Hands Touching Lives
The theme of this year's dinner is the ripple effect of individual donations. Just as ripples spread across a pond, the influence of Radiant Hands continuously expands outward. Helping the primary wage earner immediately impacts the entire family. With hope comes a feeling of empowerment and increased resolve.
Radiant Hands started in 2005 by helping just one or two families in the community. Each year RH has reached out and touched more lives easing the situation of more families. With the support of the community, last year we had an impact on more than 100 children and 50 different families.
Continue the ripple effect. Join us by enlisting sponsors from the community for our 5th Annual Fundraising Dinner. The Board is creating a sponsor package that you can present to area businesses. Radiant Hands would like to have your help. Please get involved and give us your opinion and share your expertise. Email admin@radianthands.org or give us a call 505-0178.
The 5th Annual Fundraising Dinner will be held in the Weber Center at Central Florida Community College, Saturday Oct. 2, 2010. Mark you calendars now, and join us in making this the best event ever. Tickets will be advance purchase only ($35.00/person). We are planning a fantastic art auction with original art pieces, prints, and pottery. In addition, we are planning to have traditional music with local performers playing the harmonium, tabla and dholak.
