Islam on Campus (UF) announces their 7th Annual Ramadan Fast - a -Thon
When: Sept. 16, 2009 Where: O'Connell Center Time: Doors open 6:00pm Dear Radiant Hands members, Islam on Campus at the University of Florida would like to invite you to participate in the 7th annual Ramadan Fast-a-Thon on September 16th. If you pledge to participate, IOC will aim to raise $5 on your behalf towards the St. Francis House for the homeless in Gainesville. Everyone is invited to break fast together at the O'Connell Center. The event starts at 6:30pm and doors open at 6pm. To fill out a pledge form, visit www.IslamOnCampus.com. Peaceful Paths is providing Economic Empowerment for survivors who qualify and complete Financial Literacy Training.
You must have income from employment and be able to set aside $40-$65 a month in a savings account.
There are 8 Sessions with on-going case management throughout the savings period.
Classes run September 12th - November 7th.

Please make dua' for Elton
One of our members' relatives has opened an orphanage in Africa and has been running it for several years. They are asking for people to make dua' for Elton, a very sick little boy that they have been taking care of who has HIV and TB. If you are interested in learning more about his situation, or would like to help in some way with his care please let us know and we will get you in touch with the appropriate person.
In particular, they are searching for a doctor who would be willing to care for him in the States; American Airlines has offered to fly him in for free. |

Radiant Hands has designed two Eid Cards that you can purchase to send to family and friends. Your purchase will have two fold benefit - Radiant Hands will be able to help more people, and your family and friends will enjoy not only the card but the knowledge that the card is helping others.

4th Annual Fundraising Dinner
The time is drawing near for our fundraising dinner. Sister Shahina Siddiqui will be the keynote speaker, (check out our flyer). The plans are progressing nicely. We have confirmed donations of food, arranged for the entree to be purchased from Kabab House and are approaching the time to prepay for the location and purchase stock items for the evening.
If you would like to contribute to the success of the evening by becoming a sponsor, please send your donation to us at PO Box 140661 and indicate on your check that this is sponsorship of the dinner. Please let us know how you would like to be acknowledged during the evening, the plan is to list all sponsors on the program and on posters in the room. Remember Platinum sponsors receive two free tickets to the dinner. Tickets may be purchased online through the website or from any of our members.
