A few days ago, a group of concerned community members met to discuss the recent hostility against the Muslim community. The meeting generated a response plan that encompasses education, outreach, and advocacy. A committee has been created to carry out this plan.
One of the outreach steps in the plan is to ask three parents to speak at the next School Board of Alachua meeting, thank them for their support to our community, and ask for stricter response from them to acts of harassment to Muslim children. Please attend the next School Board of Alachua meeting, which will be held on Tuesday, September 1st at 6pm in the Kirby-Smith Center Boardroom. More information available athttp://www.sbac.edu .
