Alachua County Sheriff's Office provides free drivers' training for teens

Parents: Help your teens become safer drivers with the free, two-day Teen Driver Challenge. Under the supervision and training of staff from the Alachua County Sheriff's Office, the hands-on course gives teens the experience they need to drive safely.

To be eligible for the class, the driver must be a resident of Alachua County, have a learner's or operator's license, have a vehicle for the driving portion, and be from 15 to 19 years of age.

The 12-hour course is offered twice a month and will be held on Friday evening and continue the following Saturday. For more information and to register, visit
