Greetings!

Peaceful Paths and St. Francis House

Radiant Hands purchased and delivered food to Peaceful Paths and St. Francis House to contribute towards their dinner preparations for the upcoming holiday. We also purchased some toys for the children whose moms are living at Peaceful Paths for the time being. Both organizations wanted Jean, who purchased and delivered the boxes of food, to thank everyone connected to Radiant Hands for their support and consideration. They were truly appreciative of the efforts and contributions and kept expressing how grateful they were.

Both organizations could still use some help, so you can continue to help by donating directly.

Thanks everyone for helping to make our efforts successful.
News

On November 20th, Jean and Pat attended a dinner hosted by the Silk Road Club. This was a dinner discussing the diversity and similar values of the three major religions: Islam, Judaism and Christianity. We met and talked with many people in the community and experienced a delightful and informative evening. Dr. Saeed Khan spoke during the evening and had a wonderful talk about the common values of all three religions.
Who have we helped

Radiant Hands would like to share some good news regarding our efforts, which wouldn't be possible without your support.

We recently assisted a new single mom, who is working and going to school at the same time, by purchasing  baby items to help her with the baby. We also have provided a stipend during the last two months of the pregnancy as she was not able to work full time. We are kept informed of the progress of the pregnancy and developments with the baby and know that we are able to make their life a little easier.

We recently helped a single  disabled mother, with a mentally disabled special needs 11 year old daughter along with another 13 year old.  She lost her position  of 2 years at the U of F because of lack of work, this was a OPS position so she is unable to get any unemployment benefits. She also has several medical issues of her own in addition to suffering a stroke 5 years ago. She is unable to totally support her children since she left an abusive relationship with their  estranged father.  We were able to help with some food and utility payments. She has requested we send her sincere thanks for the support she has received.

Another women in the community, who although was working two jobs, fell behind in her utility payments and had the power shut off, when one of the positions ended. We were able to get the power turned back on, and had a wonderful phone call saying how appreciative she was that she was helped at this time in her life.

As we all know, utility bills have increased dramatically over the last year and if you are on a fixed income (low income) there isn't much room for change. Although one may have a budget and work hard to conserve money and resouces sometimes issues are out of your control. Over the weekend, we had a phone call from this young woman and she was able to find another 2nd job and expects to now be able to handle her affairs.

The efforts of Radiant Hands Community has reached even Orlando where we were able to help a Muslim Sister after she was transferred with her job to a new city and unexpected expenses arose to be able to pay for an apt and cover the utility payment until she received her paycheck. We were also able to help a Muslim Brother fix his car so he could continue to work his two jobs to support his family.

We hope that all these families experience success and a brighter future, with the help that the community gave them. Again, Radiant Hands would like to express its sincere gratitude to everyon involved so that we can make a difference in someone elses life.

Garage Sale

Unfortunately, due to some scheduling issues, we will not be having our annual Garage Sale in December this year. Radiant Hands will have the sale early in the spring. If you have items you were saving for us, please continue to hold on to them if possible. Else contact Pat or Jean and we will make some sort of arrangement.

Thanks again, we look forward to having your help in the spring.
