You can still submit your work.

 

Complete your artwork at home using one 8.5x11 sheet of raw (un­stretched) canvas, pencil, crayon or paint. These supplies can be purchased at a craft store such as Michael's. Then, put your artwork in one of the manila folders located on the bulletin boards at the Hoda Center, the Islamic Center of Gainesville, or the Islamic Center of Ocala. Be sure to write your name, age, phone number, and mailing address (carefully!) on the back of the piece. You must submit your artwork by August 30th to be considered in the contest. After submitting your work, please let us know by emailing admin@radianthands.org so that we can pick up your piece from the folder.
 
·        Be creative! While planning your artwork, think about what you enjoy most about the month of Ramadan. It could be spending time with family, going to the masjid, celebrating Eid, giving zakat, whatever is most special to you. After deciding what your favorite Ramadan activity is, plan your picture. Take your time!
 
Submissions will be divided according to the age of the artist:
·                     Ages 5 and 6
·                     Ages 7 through 9
·                     Ages 10 through 13
The artwork will be judged based on how well it reflects the theme. Do your best!

 

All submissions will be on display at the September 20th fundraising dinner for Radiant Hands and Project Downtown. Prizes for all of the participants as well as winners in each category will be awarded that evening. Questions may be emailed to admin@radianthands.org.
