Food Drive June 2-6, 2008 
The Sheriff's Department is holding a food drive in June. A barrel is being placed in the lobby of the Sheriff's Office, 2621 SE Hawthorne Road, to collect donations. The barrels will be collected at the end of June and taken to the Bread of the Mighty Food Bank, which will distribute the food to needy families in Alachua, Gilchrist and Levy counties.
 
Radiant Hands would like to participate in this worthy cause by accepting donations the first week of June. Jean Ritch has graciously offered to accept "Non-perishable" food items such as rice, canned goods or boxed items. They can be dropped off during work hours at 3400 NW 13th Street and she will deliver to the Sheriff's office. You can deliver your food directly to the Sheriff's office the entire month of June.  Meeting
We had a meeting on May 24th to discuss the upcoming dinner. During the meeting volunteers discussed contacting area businesses for sponsorship. If your business would like to be represented at the dinner, please contact one of the board members for more information, or check here.
