Greetings!
Did you improve your balance and equilibrium last month? What did you do to have this come about, especially in times of stress? I would love to hear from you!
As most of us can tell by now, winter is on it's way! (Then there's the impending holiday season...!) This is a time to finish what we started, harvesting what we have sown. It is a time of completion, laying things to rest, with a focus on gratitude to those that have made this harvest possible.(i.e. Thanksgiving of sorts). We now prepare for shorter, darker days, when the body and earth rest, and an opportunity to reflect over what has transpired over the past year.
What are the fruits of your labor? What are you harvesting or completing (achievements, family, garden)?
At this time of year people's systems are more susceptible to infection. Why is that? It is now you must really strengthen and support your immune system. We will explore what it will take.
This month I would like you to start thinking about what you could do to make this a healthy winter, and how to best care for yourself as you prepare for the holidays. Read on!
Be well!

Your immune system
Did you know that the common cold occurs 100 million times per year in the US and accounts for 30 million lost workdays, with 30 million lost school days and 32 million visits to the doctor? 75% of individuals self-treat with over the counter drugs. There are over 800 drug store remedies with a collective list of side effects.
What are you doing to keep your immune system strong as we move into fall? True health can be attained only by maintaining a healthy properly functioning immune system. The immune system protects the body against infection from bacteria, virus and other parasites. And, it strengthens the body to recover quickly from attack. It is the key to fighting every kind of attack and insult. A weakened system is more prone to virtually every type of illness.
Two of most common immune suppressors are stress and poor nutrition. With preventative measures, you could greatly reduce or even eliminate your chances of picking up the common cold or flu. Signs of an impaired system include-
* Fatigue
* Listlessness
* Repeated infections
* Inflammation
* Allergic reactions
* Slow healing
We need to care for our system if it is to protect us. We need to make good choices! What can you do to prepare to strengthen your system? Make personal self care a priority! See below for the top ten ways to improve and strengthen your immune system now.
Need help moving from what you are doing now to a healthier you?? Please ask! Get the support you need to make these changes part of your life. I look forward to hearing from you!
Be well, Joelle
