Meet our featured staff member...

LEAH SHERMANLeah Sherman

Position: Staff Assistant II/REWARD Technician

Works at CECPD since February 2009

Other than the paycheck and your alarm clock, what keeps you coming in to CECPD every morning?

Definitely the people!! My co-workers at CECPD are my friends. I love that we work hard together, but we can also have fun. It makes coming to work not feel like such a chore. I also work with a great team. I am so blessed to work with people who are not only hard working, but also are so sweet and kind.

Your favorite unhealthy treat is?

Anything chocolate, it's my weakness

Who do you think is the most important person alive today?

Me. I don't say that to be vain. The reason I say myself is because I am the only person alive that can make a difference in my life. I have influences in the world that inspire me, but I am the only person who can actually decide to change my life for the better. I believe that if I decide to live my life for the better, I can inspire people around me to do the same.

Would you rather be able to fly or be invisible?

Invisible. You could have access to so much. If I were invisible I would have definitely gone to the Royal Wedding and sat right next to the queen, who could stop me!

Your favorite quote or motto:

Bible verse: Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Why do you do this kind of work?

In the REWARD Oklahoma program, we award stipends to those individuals who work so hard in their field every day. I would like to think that in my position I am giving them a pat on the back for a job well done, and that's a nice feeling.
